How many hours per day/week did you find that you needed to study for A&P I?

Somedays I studied about 1hour a day. But near test time I studied any free time I had. I got a 95 on my final and an A for the semester. Now onto AP 2

Good luck

Have fun in A&P II, I loved the first part. Part two was just not as exciting. I think I'm tired of school already :rotfl:

Good luck to you :)

For some reason, studying hard right before the test always worked for me. It depends on what works best for you. I pay very close attention in lecture, utilize all available resources (study guides, old exams, practice quizzes in the text, etc.) I put off the bulk of my studying for the two or three days before the test. I want it to be fresh in my mind. I always make A's, though. :p

Well, technically I start A&P Jan.3 but I already have the book and Ive started taking notes from the key points, answering the questions in the study guide and doing the end of chapter reviews and using the interactive disk it came with and im on chapter 3 now and ive spent nearly 8 hours a day studying so far, but its so interesting I cant put the book down.:)

It's just going to depend on your learning style. I am a total science geek and love studying about the human body....even right down to the cellular level. I hung on my professors' every words but did not study a lick. I would glance through my notes maybe for 5min before the test. I made an A in both classes. But then I struggled in Micro because I found it extremely boring, didn't like my professor, and hated that we got to do almost nothing in our lab and I barely came out with a B.

TOO MANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had more class time in other courses that were not even 3 hour courses than we did A& P. I think that if we had more class time and explanation, that it would have been easier for me. Our teacher went through and told us what to highlight for the test and that was about it!!!

A&P was also a very terrible experience for me.....sounds like we were in the same class!?!? LOL It was horrible, horrible horrible, the teacher was very unclear and his expectations were outrageous. God guided my pencil during his multiple "guess" tests, I studied 24/7 (taking a potty break seemed too much time and distraction from the material at times:) I made an A.....two students were left to take the final, we were 28 students at the beginning.

Like I said only with God's help did I make it through.....I have to admit I am not the most religious person but maybe this experience will change that!

This should be a red flag to your school. 2/28? There is definitely something wrong with that.

It is but I don't think anything will change, they've done it like that for the last 100 years....:) weak leadership in the Bio department!

Well, at least you were able to stick it out and pass. A very big Congrats! seems to be appropriate.

How many hours per day/week did you find that you needed to study for A&P I?

I was studying a little at a time ( 2 hours before class and 2 hours after class). On Saturdays, I was studying using the lab for 6-8 hours. Just remember, Anatomy is like a BIG fat Elephant. How do you eat an Elephant? Small pieces at a time. That's how I was doing it. I passed with an A. I also taped the lecture, I rewrote my notes (typed), and used online resources, as well as the text book and cliff notes. I organized a study group, which I was in charged off. The whole group got A for the class. And if there was a concept I did not understand, I would not move to the next thing until I clearly understood it. I went to tutoring 4 times to understand, protein systhesis, Sodium potassium Pump, Endoconchral ossification and blood crossings. I knew those are important to know before I start the nursing program. One good think I did, I read the first chapter before I even start the class. So I was already ahead.

Dont wait until last minute to study, it's just not going to work. You have to understand the materials well in order to be able to do well on mostly multiple choices.

Good Luck
