Really, this happen to me yesterday!!! "Oh crap, we have a test can I borrow a scantron?" WTH? Cmon' people. And like a dummy, I gave her a scantron. They come 5 in a pack and we have 5 tests. So now I am shot one. You better believe I am going to hit her up for the last exam. All the while we are taking the test, she is running up to the teacher to "clarify" questions :uhoh3: .

This is the same girl who asked me before class, "So, what did we cover last week?" I was like, "What?" She goes, "remember, I was not in class last week." I just looked at her with a blank stare. I thought to myself, I don't know who the H#$% you are and why in the would would I care if you were in class last week. I am not a school to make friends! Thank goodness she is not going into nursing. I believe she is trying to be a dental hygenist or something. This is the same chick who asked...."Is this going to be on the test?"

Okay, breath......:smokin:(i am not a somker) 6 more weeks with this girl, I can do this.

Amen! I have never heard of such! As if tuition isn't enough in itself....

Wow, what am I missing here, what part of the country are you guys from? I must live in the WRONG part of the country since I always had to get my own scantrons and I went to several different colleges 'cause we are military and had to move often. I want my scantrons payed for, too ;)

In college Algebra...our notes and homework was emailed to us. We had to print out both and have the hard copies with us in class. Tests were on scantron, which we had to provide.

People that didn't have a computer at home had to go to the campus computer lab, pay to use a computer and printer.

When the professor was asked why she didn't print it out and give it to us...her reply was "I am lazy." At least she could admit it. She didn't even grade the homework, she just took it for attendance.

P.S. I like the idea of selling ScanTrons to unprepared students for $5.00 a piece. Ouch...that would hurt.

I went to college in CA for a couple yrs, then went to NYC for the other 2 yrs, never had to buy scantrons. I have friends in other colleges, and they never had to buy scantrons either.

I have never heard of buying scantrons, not even in low priced community colleges in NYC.

We have to buy ours also. Almost all of my classes use them so I buy a bunch before each term.

My A&P instructor warned us that if we don't bring one to class, DO NOT EVEN THINK of asking a class mate. If you can't come prepared, you shouldn't deserve to take the test. I almost stood up and yelled AMEN when he said that.

"Do we need to know how to use a ScranTron for the exam?"

Just waiting for some dumb @ss to ask that one...lol

lol that is so how I feel too I think it must be my crusty old age, but I so agree with that, if you can't comprepared don't bother taking the test. There is so much competition out there to get into nursing school you would think people would be putting in 200% to their classes.

Never heard of such a thing!!

During our last semester we were required to print off our own syllabus, though

there have been a couple classes I have had to Buy syllabuses for and this year I had to buy the lecture notes, nothings free anymore LOL

Crap? HA! My school handed out CD's with our outlines and handbook on it."Said they were trying to cut back $$". Then they told us if we didn't have a computer to print it out on (I'M not using my $30 ink!) then we could use their printers and pay $5 for paper! Plus the computer lab is only open certain days and hours. Guess what? They are always closed by 3 and we didn't get out of class till 4. Forget about break"10mins" b/c everyone in the school is trying to do the same thing and forget lunch b/c they take lunch at the same time! Ha! Half the crap wasn't even on the CD's that we needed. Plus got back to school after break and they NEW FANCY PAPER TOWEL DISPENSERS in all the bathrooms that "waste" alot of paper towels when you wave your hand in front of it!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRR!:angryfire

It's funny to me too, since i've NEVER heard of buying our own scantrons in college. I graduated with my BA in the late 90s and went on to do prereqs a few yrs ago, at different city colleges and never had to buy scantrons.

But we did have fees in the tuition, and I'm sure they were for stuff like that. Why can't colleges just include it in the fees on the bill?

I don't know I guess it doesn't really bother me at all because they are so cheap, if I wanted to gripe about the extras I will complain that my books actually cost me 4x what my classes cost.

Ok my community college made us buy our own scantrons and bring them for tests. They were like 5/1 dollar so a bunch of us would just buy like 30 of them, so if one of us forgot one, forgot the notebook, left it in the car, whatever, someone would have one. Honestly, when I dig out my old books and stuff, I STILL find some of the dang things LOL. Memories....

You have to BUY your own scantron, and bring them to class??? Why would they not be handed out with the test. I have *never* heard of that before! How much are they? What are you supposed to do if you forget to bring one? So weird....

yeah, we buy ours too-oh, the joys of community college.:uhoh3:

I have had to buy every scantron for college. What makes it even better is not every teacher/test requires the same scantron, so I had to carry a variety........
