Need a Chemistry refresher

Does anyone have a good site for a Chemistry refresher?

I am taking physio in the fall but took chem over 10 years ago lol.

I don't want to struggle so I figured I could review some basic chem over the summer.

Thanks!

I'll be interested to see replies to this. I am taking chemistry in the fall, and I really struggled with it in high school. Then again, I also struggled with biology in high school, and wound up doing pretty well in my bio pre-requisites. You may surprise yourself!

Good day:

Free at coursera - https://www.coursera.org/course/physicalchemistry - starts on June 2nd. If your local library offers free UniversalClass.com they have several chemistry classes; I'm currently taking Introduction to Chemistry (a foundational, very basic class) and Chemistry 101 (the next level up). UniversalClass.com classes are year round (no start, end dates).

Thank you.

Thank you both so much...well, off to start reviewing!

I don't think it is necessary to refresh your chemistry for physio. I took physio one year ago and six month prior to that I took general chem and organic & biochem. In my school it's a requirement to take chemistry before physio, but I don't know why. The only thing that I could think of would be know what a oxidation reduction reaction is. Most of the stuff in physio is just know and understand concepts of body systems but you don't really need to know what you have learned in chemistry. So save yourself the time and have some fun :).

Same here for the prereqs.

As for having fun, my physio book will be here tomorrow so I am going to start reading and get a head start for fall, heck yeah!

I recently took chem. I would recommend you should definitely know the periodic table! You learn about Molarity, moles, limiting reactants, gas laws, and "trends" on the periodic table! and there is alot of math involved, but just take your time and read it thoroughly! and you will do just fine!:) ( there is probably more stuff, but I can't remember all of it. Good luck! :)

Check out Bozeman Science on YouTube. We used those videos a lot during Micro and A&P. Mr. Anderson explains things simply and in a fun way. It helps the info stick.
