Nassau Community College Nursing program Spring 2017

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I didnt see a thread for spring 2017 so I thought I should start one. I would be applying for nassau's nursing program and would like to know who else would be applying and what your stats are. Also I was told by the nursing department that the soonest we would hear if we were accepted/rejected wouldnt be until the first week in december. Im so nervous as this is my second time applying and hope to not get rejected once again. The first time I applied back in march i did not have any classes done but had already started taking classes towards nursing pre reqs so Im very nervous and would like to hear from anyone who has applied previously or will be applying.

I just applied today! Trying to stay positive and hopeful : )

Ill be nervous for another month or so , I called and they said the soonest we would get an answer wouldbe the begining of december

Yea I really love ncc, I think they are very organized. However so far with this nursing app I been going back and forth.. so I'm nervous and a lil frustrated. I did my teas at ncc in sep.. when I went to admissions they said they got it, the following day I go to the nursing department to fill out an application as well and bring an updated transcript from previous school to show graduation. Then they call me and see they don't have my teas and I'm not a matriculated student, but iam.

I'm applying! I applied for last semester with just my transfer credits from when I went to suffolk a few years ago. I do have a lot of the core classes finished that will satisfy some of the classes needed for the nursing program, but I didn't have the major ones done. Between last semester and the summer semester I now have these classes:

A&P 1- A

Lifespan Development- A

Statistics- A

Biomedical Ethics- A

Im enrolled in A&P 2 this semester but obviously this won't count towards my application since there is no grade yet.

I scored a 77 on my TEAS exam.

I would love to know others stats that they are applying with! I truly hope I get accepted for next semester.

Hi! I applied to the NCC program about a week two weeks ago. When I dropped off my application I was told that they will contact me via mail earliest the first of December. So I will be nervous and worried until then. I'm a matriculated NCC student and have 7 out the 11 (i think) classes done. All I need is A&P 2, which I'm taking this semester. Microbiology and Biomedical Ethics. My GPA is 3.56 and mostlyb A & B's in the pre-requisite classes. A&P 1=B, Statistic B+, psych 101 A, Lifespan A, B in English, Art and History Electives. I didn't too well in TEAS which i took last month oy score 62% which is proficient. This is also my first time applying. So super nervous! Good luck to everyone!

my gpa at ncc is 3.3

AP 1 A

AP 2 A

MICRO A

CHEM B+

STATS A

LIFESPAN B

The electives i can't remember its over 5 years ago from a brooklyn college degree. I have all classes needed except bio ethics. I score 68 % on the teas and I'm no longer a nassau resident : (

I dropped my application off last week. This is my second time applying to the program at NCC. I applied last semester but didn't get accepted. I have an A in all prerequisites and electives except for Micro, lifespan and the foreign language elective. I'm currently enrolled in those classes but they won't count for this application. My Teas scores are: reading 81, math 70 and English language 76.7

I really hope I get accepted this time. I don't want to wait another semester especially since I'll be finished with all my prereqs and electives. 😬

This would be my second time applying as well, I'm taking ap1, stat, Spanish, and bio medical ethics this semester, after this I would only need ap2 and micro. Teas was proficient. I hope I get accepted this time especially since after waiting so long to be rejected really sucks

Hi everyone!!!

I just applied last week. I am sure by the end of November I will turn in a stalker waiting for the mailman to come :) . I have completed all my classes except Medical Micro which I am enrolled in now. TEAS scores are math 86.5, Eng 73.4, Reading 79.8. Aside from that my grades are as follows;

A&P 1 : B

A&P 2: C+

Bio Med Ethics : A

Gen Psych: B+

Lifespan: A

Stats : B+

Eng : B+

Italian : A

History: B+

Glad to see people already on this site. Wish you all lots of luck, hope to see you all in the Spring :)

Hello Everybody!

Just finished up my application for the spring semester (a little late, but better late then never) and figured I would jump in on all the fun here. Just took my TEAS and came out with an 87.3, but my pre-reqs are what's worrying me. I graduated UMass Amherst back in Spring of 2014 with my BS in Kinesiology and decided after two years of working insurance, that it isn't for me. Came out of school with a 3.1 overall GPA because I was an idiot who liked to do more socializing then school work. Unfortunately it took 2 years of me working in the real world to realize that being a nurse is what I really want to do with my life.

My pre-reqs are:

A&P I & II - B+ in both (A in A&P I Lab and B+ in A&P II lab)

Stat - C+ in general statistics, A- in Biostats (no idea what they'll take)

Psych - B

English - B

I'm hoping someone can possibly give me some feedback based on previous experience? Thank you everybody!

I applied about a month ago. I graduated from Nassau a year ago but now I'm back to try to get into the program. A bit nervous because from what I hear it is quite difficult to get accepted to Nassau nursing.

GPA 3.66

Teas 76%

A&P 1 B+

A&P 2 B+

Med Micro B

Stats B+

Psy 101 A

All other NCC courses A

Just missing Bio Ethics & Lifespan. I'm hopeful that I get accepted but in the meantime I will apply to other schools just to have other options.
