Just accepted and not sure the next steps..

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I was just accepted to my school's 2-year nursing program.

Orientation is in June and i'm trying my hardest not to over-worry.

I'm not sure what I need to be doing. Buying a NCLEX book and start looking over questions now? Or is it too soon?

I just have no idea what, if anything, I need to be doing.

Any ideas?

Congratulations!!!

Time to go into training. Start getting up at 5 AM. Try to go 8 hours between potty breaks. Learn how to live on granola bars & black coffee. Carry around 40 lbs of 'stuff' at all times. Go all day without sitting down. . . .

Nah - just kidding. Don't worry, they'll fill you in on everything at orientation. Until then, just chill and have fun.

You better not buy an NCLEX book!! Way too early. But I would buy books with NCLEX style questions for classes you are taking, but one at a time( i.e. Pharmacology success). Congrats and please try and relax before school starts.

Congratulations!

I just got accepted into accelerated BSN program for fall & am in the same boat, wondering what to review & study before our first semester starts in August.

I haven't gotten my schedule yet, but I am definitely brushing up on medical terminology & medical math this summer. I will probably start looking at books with NCLEX style questions, too, though I may hold off on purchasing a formal test study guide.

I am also going to relax & enjoy my dwindling free time as much as possible. I plan to spend every spare minute at the beach!

Congratulations! My school requires us to pass a math compentency test for nursing within the first month of classes. :banghead: I'm using "Davis's Basic Math Review for Nurses" ISBN-13: 978-0803620568 It's very easy to follow. :yeah:But if you're not REQUIRED to do anything over the summer, just enjoy the weather and your accomplishment (getting in)!! :w00t:
