I'm a florida high school student that is curious on the process of getting a BSN

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello, I am a high school student; and I am looking into becoming a Army ER nurse but first I need a 4 year degree in nursing and 2 years of experience... Can someone please help tell me the basic prerequisites to get a BSN. I also would like to get a job in a hospital before I get my degree, can someone also tell me what are some part time jobs in the hospital for some one that is 17 and with out a degree... it would be a tremendous help, thank you all.

If you are in high school, I would suggest doing a traditional BSN program. That is, nursing is your major at a 4 year university. There are no pre-reqs, everything is built into the program.

Another route to look into if you are set on entering the military is maybe another branch. i work at the officer Training command for the Navy. I apologize as I am only familiar with the navy ROTC program. but that program will pay for your tuition and give you a stipend, once you have been accepted into a program. if you are already considering joining the military the min time commitment is 4 years in almost all cases in all branches, if you do the ROTC route you would owe 4 years of service. I worked with Army nurses when i deployed. Awesome people! I work with Navy Nurses and Marine drill instructors every day as a civilian and am an Air force Reservist (got out of active duty 6 years ago). i'm not a recruiter and dont like to push people to make the same choices i made, but thats the info i found when looking to become a navy Nurse (that way i could get a job right after graduation and get 4 years of experience under my belt)
