I am SO P***** right now

I applied for the nursing program back in July. I had to fill out my application and have a meeting/interview with the man who was running them. AT THAT TIME I asked him if my transcripts from my old college that I had transferred to this college would be forwarded as well, if I needed a new copy, or what. He said all the transcripts in my file ( old school + new school) would be forwarded.

Well last week I get a card in the mail stating they don't have my old transcript and cannot process my application at this time! So I called up the Selective Admissions office and told them what the man told me and that I was confused as to why my other transcript wasn't forwarded as well. She said she would look into it. Come to find out that NO ONE forwarded EITHER of my transcripts with my application....but since the Office of Selective Admissions has the ability to pull this colleges transcripts...they can see the grades/courses I have taken HERE but only see "transfer credit" from my old school....so they need the OLD transcript to see my grades from before.

*sigh* The deadline is TOMORROW. So yesterday I am up running around the school like a mad crazy lady talking to every person I could about WTH I can do at this point and finally a lady from Selective Admissions said that MULTIPLE people had the same problem and that we could just go to Records+ Registration and make a photocopy of our old transcripts and drop them off in the Nursing Dept. I did so- and saw at LEAST 30 other people doing the same thing.

Well TODAY I get another email from the head of Selective Admissions whom I had emailed...saying I got your photocopy but please be aware that IT HAD TO BE A BRAND NEW SEALED OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.

Of course, NOT AT ALL what I and dozens of others were told when we applied and had our interviews.

So tomorrow I am going up there and finding out who HIS boss is and having a major rant session.....because at this point it seems like my dream of getting in for Spring has just been flushed down the crapper.

Oh BoonersMom, I am so sorry!

Please calm down before you go though. Don't let this be your determining factor.

I realize you have to go up there to push your way through to get the transcript, but just bring copies of the e-mails as evidence, and try to keep your cool.

Good luck.

Sometimes I seriously think that the colleges have their heads up their butts. I have heard so many stories of things like this from students who were told one thing, and at the last minute told another. I hope everything works out. It seems ridiculous for them to make you get a sealed copy of your transcripts when your grades are on file there somewhere in the college.

I have been told so many times, get EVERYTHING in writing or it will bite you in the butt. I'm so sorry. I hope they still accept your application.

Update.

Luckily *I* was able to get to my old CC and beg them for a transcript and I got one...which I turned in today which was the deadline.

However, 8 of us still went to the head of the Nursing Dept. and told her the fiasco that unfolded. She was aware and apologized but said that the decision to accept the others's photocopies lies directly in the lap of Selective Admissions.

So in the end run....I lucked out...buy many others probably wont

How terrible. I am so sorry to read this, but glad that this was caught before the deadline (although it is very close). Good luck to you

You know - for all the technology these nursing schools brag about, sometimes I have to wonder if anyone actually knows how to USE it!

It isn't just that school - I hear similar tales of horror from all kinds of places...
