Having hard time to figure out prereqs pls help

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi,

I'm having a hard time figuring out what classes i should be taking and in which order...thats because i don't know what to expect, some classes might be easier than others some (like A&P) hard as hell....here's a list of my prereqs:

- English Comp

- Intro Speech

-Intermediate Algebra

- statistics

-Micro + lab

-AP 1+2

-Ethics

-Hum/Fa

-Psychology

I was planning on taking Intermediate Algebra and Ethics this SUMMER semester which is only 8 weeks instead of 16, is that too much ?????

What about micro ? is that as hard as AP ?

I would greatly appreciate any comments on any of the prereqs because I really have no idea what to expect....

Thanks!!!!!!

You know..the only course you mentioned that i found difficult was a&p just because of the amount of information you have to remember. The rest are just time consuming..writing the papers, etc. Mirco isn't that bad. I think for me, the worst part of that was just taking the time to write up the lab assignments very week. I took a&p separate from mirco. Just easier for me! Good luck!!

Check your pre req criteria. I know we had to take AP1 firtst, AP2 second, and Micro third. These classes filled up quickly and sometimes you have to wait a semester in between. Micro was just as hard as AP's for myself. I guess it all depends on the instructor and how they present the material. Check out rateyourinstructor.com. It will give you a little insight on what to expect.

Ok Thanks, the new program books come out april 1 so then i have to make up my mind what i wanna take first...like i said, probably Math and Ethics...I hope it won't be too much, the summer semester is pretty short.

Do you know what you need to have done in order to apply? Some colleges want you to have all your core stuff before you can apply, some all your sciences, etc. Many colleges provide a "program of study" and they can tell you what they think you should take each sem.

If I had to make a schedule absed on what you need not knowing your school, I would do this:

Sem I:

- English Comp

-Intermediate Algebra

-Psychology

-AP 1

Sem 2:

- Intro Speech

- statistics

-AP 2

SEM 3:

-Micro + lab

-Ethics

-Hum/Fa

Those are pretty full loads! GL!

PS you def need algebra before statistics! HTH

I took College Algebra last summer as well as Developmental Psych so you could probably do it with Ethics as well. You should check with your school to see if there are any prereqs to the prereqs. Sounds dumb, but my school requires Biology for majors before the let you take Anatomy, Physiology, or Micro. Chemistry is required for Physiology, and College Algebra is required before Chemistry. It's a pain in the butt and really stretches out the time required if you don't get them in the right order. I would check with the nursing program and get some advice straight from them.

Thanks guys :)

well no, as far as i know the only course that has a prereq is Micro (A&P 1 and 2)

so, can you tell me about Ethics...how was that ? Lots of work or really easy ? And what about Psych ? I'm just trying to figure it all out and to take harder classes along with easier ones ya know?

ok, so i have decided i will take intermediate algebra and applied ethics (healthcare) this summer!!!!!!!!

is it very helpful to take an introductory chemistry class before taking ap and micro ??? if so i will do it even though i don't have to (its not a prereq)

yes, it will be helpful to have chem knowledge under your belt for a&p and micro....makes things a little easier ;)
