Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I just registered for this upcoming semesters classes and I wanted to take Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology together so I can apply for the nursing program after the summer semester.. Is this a bad Idea or should I just go ahead and knock it out. I'm not working at the moment and I have a lot of support from my family when it comes to "money" so I'm just trying to get some good advice from someone who has already been through this... Please Help !!!!!

I just took both classes with labs this pass semester. I was advised by the nursing department not to do so, but I did and received a 4.0 this semester. I took 14 credits in all and I found that the science courses went together very well. If you have great time management skills and can grasp difficult material, I say go for it.

I DID IT! And worked full time while doing it for the exact same reasons, so I could apply! BUT... you must be disciplined to do it. YOU need to know when you need to stay home and study vs. going out for happy hour. I earned an A and a B and will be starting my ABSN in January!

GOOD LUCK!

Having graduated this past April from Nursing school...and having walked in your shoes...my advise is NO. Do not take them together. I know most say if you can do go for it, but why risk it? Your grades on your science classes will have tremendous weight whether getting accepted or not over one that has all As in those classes, do not risk a B if you can pull an A for sure. I am not sure where you are planning to attend, but nursing tends to be pretty competitive to get in. Besides, why stress yourself right now? You will have plenty of stressful and limited free time once in nursing school. Take the lecture and lab, along with another class such as Speech, ENC1102, etc.

Good luck in whatever decision you make and yes, definitely go by word of mouth and ratemyprofessor.
