I took my first microbiology test on Monday. We got our tests back today and I got a 96%. I can't believe I did so well. I expected something in the mid 80's.

I just wanted to share my good news. Hopefully, I did as well on my Statistics test.

Great job...I hope you have an awesome semester!

Whew! I bet that was a relief! Congrats on your exam!

Good job! Honestly, micro isn't challenging...just tedious. Its concepts aren't difficult to grasp, but they're a pain to maintain since there's so much of it.

At my school, we were able to use our Pathogen Group notes during the Lab Final, and I must admit that I would've been lost without them.

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations!!! That is a GREAT score!! Micro was one of the harder pre-reqs I took for sure, but I passed it with a B (thank goodness - the entire semester I thought I was going to have to take it again!)

Micro for me was pretty challenging - I think it differs from person to person (but I do agree with the previous poster, it is tedius and that is probably what makes it hard). As long as I had something to look at in Lab, I was fine.

My suggestion, if your lab final is anything like ours, WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING!!! The color of the stain, the shape, the color of the organism you are testing, the results of the test, EVERYTHING!!! We were allowed to use all of our lab notes for our final (open book in Lab only), and any information you had helped! We had a chart at the back of our lab book too that we wrote down all of our results only for the organisms that we tested and that definitely came in handy...that helped me determine which tests I should run on the organisms I got for my final.

Good luck with all of your future tests...by the sounds of it though, I think you will do just fine!

I have noticed from this board that microbiology classes tend to vary widely regarding the complexity of material covered. Your experience is not necessarily reflective of others'.

As for me - I remember hours of sitting and learning how to understand, explain, and draw diagrams from nothing - of every darn molecule in krebs. For some reason, the pentose phosphate pathway is burned in my memory.

Good for you on your first exam!

:balloons:

Are you going to give yourself some sort of reward or celebration? (I'm big on celebrating exam results with a dinner out, movie, etc.)

:balloons::balloons::balloons: Congratulations!!! :balloons::balloons::balloons: That's awesome! I hope you're proud of yourself! ;) :D
