Do you have any suggestions on books for dosage calculations? I start my first semester in the fall but current professors have been stressing the importance of conversions. I've been told the fail rate for this first test is very high.

Dosage Calculations for Dummies is my favorite one. And I'm mathematically challenged so I tried a few. I passed my first dosage calc exam with a 90.

Math Attack: Winning the Pharmacology Math Battle by Karen Champion is wonderful. I highly recommend it. This book explains different methods of approaching dosage calculations. It's written in a conversational, encouraging style. Pick the method that works best for you after reading the book. It helps take the anxiety out of math and helps you understand what the questions are looking for. Very helpful!

If you want a book of nothing but practice problems get the workbook "Dosage Calculations". That will give you tons of practice. I still use it to do practice questions before our required math tests each semester.

Kris, I got Math Attack too. I couldn't get past the grammatical errors in the book to even begin focusing on the math. I'm such a nerd.

Yeah, I felt the need to get out my red pen and correct it. Editing skills were definitely lacking. However, the content is solid and if you can look past the grammar, it is truly helpful.
