Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I did not see another thread, so I thought I would start one for fellow students to chat and get support. Anyone else taking A&P I this spring?

Mine has a quiz next weekend...but my Chemistry had a quiz this week already...I got a 95! woo hoo! And I already have a PP presentation set up to do. Crazy...but I think I will do great. (thats what I will keep saying)

I also have the Kaplan flash cards. They're amazing!!

Carequeen - I am also taking Stats and am equally terrified! A friend of mine recommended the book "Statistics for people who hate statistics" and it's pretty great. I highly recommend!

What are you guys doing to prepare for A&P I? I got Barrons EZ A&P and am flipping through that now!

There is a fantastic book entitled "Get Ready for A&P" by Lori Garrett that I've been reading for the past few days. It's awesome. It gives the perfect refresher for math skills, basic terminology etc complete with "complete -as-you-read questions and problems. I highly recommend it. It came as a part of the book pkg when I bought books for classes at the bookstore, but I'm sure you can find it ob Amazon.

yes, I have that one too and forgot to mention it. It actually came with my A&P Textbook (By martini) packet. My set of books I got was awesome I also opted for the Netters atlas of anatomy (though it's way to detailed for a basic A&P class.) and I got the home lab book made by my school which is basically pictures of the models you'd find in the lab. Classes start on the 23rd for me.. I can't wait! My A&P professor is supposed to be hilarious.

I am taking A & P 1, Chemistry and English Comp:)My semester starts on the 22nd. Going to be a crazy semester!!

CareQueen- are you at AACC?

Specializes in PICU, Pediatrics.

Chelsea13- No, I'm taking my pre-reqs at Camden County College, in NJ.

CareQueen, I'm at CCC too! I started the DTR course, but have decided very recently to switch to nursing. I'm only on my second semester, and am switching my major officially to pre-nursing after this semester.

That's great! Officially, I'm enrolled in the Pre-Nursing Option too, because it was the only way that I could qualify for direct loans from the govt to pay for the courses, since I already have a Bachelors degree. At CCC, I'm taking the 6 pre-reqs, (well 4 now) I need for my ABSN program and then I'm off to Hopkins to start my ABSN in August. Are you taking A&P I this term as well? If so basic or regular? I'm taking the basic one.
