Let's make a list of all online FNP programs

Nursing Students NP Students

Hello everyone. I have been searching for a list of online FNP programs but have not been able to find one so maybe together we can make one. I want to start applying to FNP programs soon and the only ones I know about are the ones near where I live, but I'm sure there are many more out there. So if you know of a FNP program that is either all online of distant learning (travel to site a few times per year) please post it here!

Thanks for starting this thread!! I don't think anyone has mentioned Duke U. in Durham, NC. They have a distance FNP program. It does require 3 week-end visits once each month during the physical assessment course, but the rest of the curriculum is all offered online. Clinicals can be arranged locally for distance students. Check out the website for more info.

Future reference :) Thanks for starting this thread!

Indiana State University is where I got my FNP degree and am now earning my DNP through them.

This has been a great help thank you!

Maryville University has a distance FNP & AGNP program. It is somewhat a newer online program but a private & small university. The programs are patterned just like their on campus FNP & AGNP programs.

No mention of Louisiana?!?

I'm pretty sure McNeese State University and Northwestern State University have programs....

Graceland University www.graceland.edu is completely online and requires a campus visit prior to clinicals for advanced health assessment. They are not approved for NC I do believe.

Also, Eastern Kentucky University is a good online program

Samford University in Birmingham, AL

Eastern Kentucky University

Clarion University, Clarion, PA

Specializes in Hematology/Oncology, OutPatient Infusion.

These I've briefly looked into so far. I'm going of US News and World Report: Best Online Nursing Programs. You have you look at each to find out if they offer an NP program specifically. These all have a credit unit cost of less than $700. I've only gotten through the first two pages. :-)

Clarion University, University of Cincinnati, Delta State, Frontier, Nursing University, Chamberlain, Uni of Colorado- Co Springs, St. Francis Medical Ctr College of Nursing, Kaplan, Maryville University,

Most of these are for profit programs. Better advice would be to look at the USNews top NP programs list and then see which programs from THAT list have an online component. Those are the more reputable programs compared to these.

Specializes in Adult Nurse Practitioner.

Your distaste for non-profit schools is well known in these forums, however your comment "most of these are for profit programs" is incorrect. Kaplan and Chamberlain are, I could not find out anything about Nursing University, but ALL the rest in the list a not-for-profit schools.
