    Hi Bill,

I did not get accepted into this cohort but I did just endorse my California license to Oregon. Before I actually lived here I never got called back for interviews, even after I had my Oregon license in hand. But, now that I am here (been here one week!) I am finally starting to get call backs and have my first interview set up for tomorrow (not through Legacy) but I am still very excited because its on the floor I want! :-) The process of endorsement is VERY easy, although you will be paying for your licensing fees and fingerprinting fees twice (one for NC and one for OR). From my experience, it didn't seem to matter to employers which license I had in hand, it only mattered what my address and phone number said on my resume. So, I would say, if you will be moving back to Oregon within 6 weeks of finishing nursing school, then go ahead and take the NCLEX in Oregon (so you only pay for your licensing fees once) but if you will not be moving back for awhile, I say take the NCLEX in North Carolina and then have it endorsed for Oregon later. The endorsement process took me about 6 weeks but that is because the first set of my fingerprints were not clear enough to be read so I had to do them again. I started the endorsement process as soon as a passed the NCLEX in California and about 6 weeks before I actually moved I had my Oregon license in hand. Ultimately its up to you what you want to do but keep in mind that statically your failure rate will rise the longer you wait after graduating to take the exam. This is why I took mine in California and then had it endorsed to Oregon.
Glad things are falling into place for you. Which school did you attend in SD?

Hi everyone. I just had my phone pre-screen interview on Friday, 12/09. I am currently living in San Diego and hope that this doesn't affect their decision to hire me. I thought the interview went great! Reference an article in a magazine journal that i thought i could use. The manager interviewing me said she had the same article in front of her and that she was going to make copies for her employees. Hope that's a sign of fate or destiny...
I'd be interested to keep hearing about your experience as an "out of stater" applying and going through the process. Looks like you don't have enough posts yet to PM but feel free to once you get there (15 posts I think).

When did you graduate? Do you already have your OR license and what was your experience doing so? How long did that process take? Where you first licensed in CA?

    Cheers,
    Bill

Has anyone heard back about getting a second interview for the 2012 Spring cohort? We're supposed to hear back at the end of December, (and it's the last day of December,) but I haven't heard of anyone getting a second interview. I haven't gottena phone call for a second interview or an email rejection. I wish I would get one or the other just to know!

Legacy is on a hiring freeze and they plan 400 job cuts. The system is short $40 million for 2012... Job prospects don't look good for anyone right now....

Sadly I have not heard anything but I have a friend that received call for a second interview back on the 23rd. I hope they still have other calls to make but seriously think we did not make it this time around. Best of luck to those still searching and hope you all have a very Merry and Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, I got the rejection email. Perhaps it is because I don't have my RN license yet, nor due I have a test date. I also did not give them an updated transcript which reflects a GPA of 3.53 instead of 3.43 in my original application. My GPA is not the best, but oh well. I am considering going back to school for my MSN. Anyone else thinking of doing the same?

Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting to hear back from Legacy about their final hiring decisions? The month long wait has taken a lot of patience and now they have decided to delay their hiring timeline for another month... Oh the suspense.

I still haven't heard anything. I'm just hoping they won't wait till the last day of the month. What position are in the running for?

I interviewed for the perioperative division, how about yourself? All of the Legacy budget cuts are making me a tad nervous- hoping they are still able to hire nurses for the positions they interviewed for. I'd love to know if you get any word from them and good luck to you!
