Greetings fellow future nurses! I just mailed my application packets for Mt. Hood CC, Clackamas CC, and Portland CC today and excited to be done with them. I have my proctored essay for OHSU this Wednesday and am a little worried because I have NO idea what is going to be asked. I haven't been able to get any feedback on what is on any of the essays. I am also applying to Chemeketa but am probable wasting my time as I am missing 2 of the pre-recs required there that aren't required at the OCNE schools. Well, the worst they can say is no, right?

Anyway, the Oregon Nursing Programs sections has been a little dead lately so I was hoping to spark some dialogue. This is my first year applying and I'm already getting a little stressed. I kind of have a lot riding on getting in somewhere next fall. My fiance and I are kind of planning on it. I'm hoping that doesn't backfire! How's it going with everyone?

Yay! I just got my notice that I have been accepted to Mt.Hood's Fall program!! OMG!

Well I didn't get into the MHCC program. I had 60 points prior to the essay / interview, and there were 104 people out of 150 that finished ahead of me. Sounds like I bombed the essay / interview. Sucks cuz I thought it went well. Perhaps I need to re-think my interview strategy. Oh well, 3 more letters to obsess over this month.

I didn't get into MHCC either! Damn, cause I also thought my essay / interview went good for me. Well, I have a few more shots here (PCC, CCC, and Clark). Congratulations to Lilpoka and Emmers! Good luck to the rest!

Congratulations to those who got into the MHCC program!

Also, sorry to hear from those who didn't get in. From the sounds of it, it doesn't seem like those who were declined spots in the class made errors in their essays or interviews (from your impression). Instead, it sounds like the competition was just that good. There must have been one or two particular details that simply stood out for those who got selected. I'm still in awe that there is this much competition for the RN program.

Hopefully everyone ultimately gets into their classes as more schools make announcements and alternates move up. It sure would be nice if they would make their determinations within the same week or month. It is what it is, though.

Still waiting for the OHSU OCNE announcements...

PCC applicants, when do you hear back about acceptance/alternate positions? Are all interviews done then?

PCC does a proctored essay and no interviews. I remember them saying it will be the week of the 14th. I am also waiting to hear from the OHSU BSN program which will be that week as well. I'm going completely crazy though. :uhoh3:

Interviews for the Clackamas are May 17th, 18th and the 24th, with notifications by June 1st.

I'm pretty excited and am very pleased with the Mt Hood invite! I am still waiting on PCC, but pretty sure I will decline if an offer comes in. Still have CCC interview in a couple of weeks. I think it is always good to have options. But Mt Hood is wonderful!

That's so funny. I never even thought of dressing up! I wore jeans, nice shirt/jacket like I always do when I go out on the weekend to do errands. May not have scored me any points but was very comfortable in the room.
