Applicants to Portland area schools

Greetings fellow future nurses! I just mailed my application packets for Mt. Hood CC, Clackamas CC, and Portland CC today and excited to be done with them. I have my proctored essay for OHSU this Wednesday and am a little worried because I have NO idea what is going to be asked. I haven't been able to get any feedback on what is on any of the essays. I am also applying to Chemeketa but am probable wasting my time as I am missing 2 of the pre-recs required there that aren't required at the OCNE schools. Well, the worst they can say is no, right?

Anyway, the Oregon Nursing Programs sections has been a little dead lately so I was hoping to spark some dialogue. This is my first year applying and I'm already getting a little stressed. I kind of have a lot riding on getting in somewhere next fall. My fiance and I are kind of planning on it. I'm hoping that doesn't backfire! How's it going with everyone?

Thank you emmyers!! I can't believe Mt. Hood starts so soon! I'm excited for you! My gf is at mhcc right now and she loves the program. I'm sorry I can't suggest much places to get titers since I got all of them with kaiser. Goodluck!

For emmyers...I went to the county health department to get my immunizations. They only cost $15 each for my 2nd mmr and TD. I think they do titers there too. I can get you the number if you need it.

And jillane...I actually DID cry. I was accepted into three schools and found that I had a tough time deciding between MT Hood and CCC. I chose CCC. And to tell the truth...I don't think I have stopped jumping up and down, lol. I am taking a couple classes right now during the summer- one to go towards my BA(stats). But super excited! We have all worked so hard to get here and it feels great knowing that we made it.

Lilpoka: I got my shots at the co health dept, and was scheduled to get my titers, but they said they were no longer giving them when I showed up. Super bummed! So now I have to look somewhere else.

I would've cried too if I was accepted into 3 schools! Wow! I hope you saved all your acceptance letters! You can look back and remember all the good feelings that came over you when you received them! I also saved my letter from OHSU even though I wasn't offered a spot to remind me that I just have to work harder =P I give you lots credit for taking classes even before nursing school starts!! I decided to take on the hard job of doing absolutely nothing, no studying, nothing! ;)

i received an email from pcc saying that i've been chosen as an ALTERNATE for career ladder nursing program. anyone received the same email??? i've been reading this thread and see that most student has a number for alternate. i don't see any number as an alternate from my email. i'm so excited and hoping that i will get in to the program for spring 2013.

Does anyone know if the OHSU bridge program can be completed "in-class" vs. "online".
