  1. I think there is still a very good chance that someone's plans will change and you will get a call from PCC! It's still about two months out...
  2. Share13, Unless I hear an absolutely stunning recommendation from a friend of mine I'm meeting tomorrow for lunch, (who just finished his first year at PCC), I was planning on calling PCC and giving up my seat this next week. I got into Clark and I think it is a better fit for me. So we can test how long it takes for someone to give up a seat, and PCC to call the next alternate! Congratulations!
  3. YAY!!! Thank you mssjez!!! Can't wait to fill these in with tests, quizes, projects, clincal days, birthdays!, hollidays, dayz off etc!!!
  4. YAY! I got into Clark! Now I must decided between PCC and Clark. I have heard many good things about Clark, and nothing bad so far but I have many questions still because it's a pretty big decision.
  5. So I got into Clark and PCC. I actually live in Vancouver, but I still want as much input as possible before I commit to one program or the other. I have heard a few good things about Clark's program and nothing bad. But I seem to have only found very limited opinions on PCC's program and a fairly big one (on this forum) that is poor. I have yet to talk to an acquaintance who just finished their first year at PCC, but I have a bunch of questions for them. Some good advice I've heard is choose the program with the best clinicals. Is there any input from anyone browsing this forum?
  6. Well congratulations on getting into MHCC. I didn't even get wait-listed there!
  7. I got my letter yesterday! I got accepted! Now I just have to decide between PCC and Clark. I have heard good things about Clark but not a lot of info on PCC. I know someone in the program, but I haven't talked to them in a while so I'll definitely have to take them out to lunch and pick their brain about the PCC program. Also, I was looking at the Clark website and they said you can make an appointment (for a Wednesday) for a question/answer session with a nursing advisor. You will probably get your letter today!
  8. I am curious about this too. I did just get a Financial Aid checklist making sure I had submitted everything. This has meant in the past that I will hear from that school soon! I also remember reading somewhere that they took 6-8 wks after the April 1st deadline, so this week would be 9 weeks! I'll bet we hear something by the end of the week.
  9. I just got my letter from CCC! I got an alternate spot! Lucky I applied to as many schools as I did and got a spot at PCC. I'm sure there will be lots of juggling around so heads up sasafrass0123 and others who are alternates. So now I just have to figure out how to pay for two years of nursing school! I did get my FAFSA in so I'll see what package PCC can put together for me. I spoke with a financial aid adviser for PCC and they said they would be attending the info session next Tuesday (the 5th, from 9am - 11am).
  10. My Mailwoman doesn't deliver till after 5 most days!!! Lucky, I'll be at work till 5:30!!! Gotta focus on work, gotta focus, gotta focus (to make the day go FAST!) I'll be online ASAP after checking mailbox! Good luck everyone!
  11. Sasafras0123, What time did you go! I had mine today at 10:30!
  12. PHEW!!! Done with my CCC interview as well! nwnursing, hope yours was a positive experience too! I also managed to drop off my PCC seat verification today! It was worth the $50 for my peace of mind knowing they know I WANT that seat. Since it's a nice day I just might try to pipe up a second zone on the sprinkler system, finish the dishes then splurge and make frozen pizza (with extra sauce and cheese and veggies of course!)
  13. missmichelle and lilpoka, I didn't mean to pry too much, I am just nervous as well. But it is a major factor for me whether the essay is handwritten or not. If it is handwritten, I won't get in. Not only do I have poor handwriting, but my written composition really shows my disability unless I can copy/paste/move words/sentences. I also agree that it would be an unfair advantage for those of us who came later in the process to know the questions they will ask. Thank you for what you both have said, it definitely does give me some comfort even knowing the general essay/interview format. Good luck to you both!
  14. Lilpoka! Congratulations on completing another interview/essay!!! I take my next Thurs. What was the format? Did the questions have to be handwritten or done on a word processor? How many in your group, how many interviewers? Please don't answer any of my questions till you've had a beer or two
  15. Nurselaura, (ie, costs!) Yes, I was just looking at costs for PCC last night too. It's part of the reason I did NOT apply to OHSU, it was just too expensive for three years there (I really only qualify for the regular BSN program, I had a poor undergrad GPA, but I have 4.0 for all my nursing prereqs...). I figured total tuition costs plus books for me would be about $7000. I have a BS already so I just need to take the nursing courses. I think I figured MHCC was about $10,000 or $11,000 but that sounds too high now comparing with PCC. IDK anything about costs at CCC... looks like I'll research that next... Oh and BTW, as I look into costs, many scholarships require you prove you are in a program but the deadlines have already passed (or coming soon!) Ok, Good luck!
