  1. So, I'm applying for the first time this round. Do they EVER take ADN's??
  2. navyman7, I am all new to military stuff. Have a question about the navy reserves, which I know isn't your "specialty". But can't seem to find a nurse recruiter to answer my questions, so here I am. So, wanting to go into the reserves... I graduated in March with an ADN and have passed my NCLEX, so I have my RN. I have no working RN experience yet. I am enrolled to start a BSN program this fall. However, I have a previous degree - Bachelor of Science in psychology/biology. I've seen conflicting info on whether the reserves will take you with an ADN. Do you know??
  3. I don't know about PSU. I took my A&P at Mt. Hood. Good luck!! :)
  4. hi! ok - so the roller coaster thing - me too!!! these last few weeks have been tough! but i've been having a lot of fun - i especially thought the skittles project was cool! taste the rainbow! lol!! but, yes, VERY STRESSED AND TIRED!! I came home from clinical yesterday and fell asleep around 5:00 and slept until about 11 this morning!
  5. That's cool! I'm kind of thinking the same things! LOL! A long time ago, I wanted to go to medical school. Got a bachelor's in psychology/biology, and got married and had kids. Where I'm at in life right now makes it unrealisitic for me to pursue med school. But, I do want to go on and finish this nursing degree with a bachelor's. And i've heard lots of great things about ohsu's crna program. I think that would be awesome. But i still have this thing in the back of my head that can't let go of medical school. And i think, maybe once the kids are older and i've worked as a nurse/np/crna for a while, maybe then i can go for it!? I used to work as a medical assistant in Dallas, and one of the doctors i worked for was actually on the admitting committee for Southwestern Medical School there in Dallas. She told me all kinds of stories, but one that stuck with me was when she told me they had just accepted a 63 year-old man into the program! And she said, "So don't worry about it! You're never too old!" Yeah, I'm sure we saw each other at orientation. I sat in the back section of the room, in the front row. I'm doing my clinical at Cascade Park on Wednesday mornings. What about you?
  6. Hi! I got accepted too! I had 49 points, and I start in April! I'm glad we didn't have to take the HESI. That was a nice surprise! So, @future anesthetist, are you wanting to be a CRNA? I've thought about that a lot myself! =) @cbishop77, good luck with your classes!
  7. Hi! I've applied at Clark College in Vancouver for the October 1st deadline. I was just wondering if anyone else did?
  8. "worked as a nurse tech (which I highly recommend to help get a possible foot in the door)" hi! this is probably a lame question, but i'm new to this... what is a nurse tech? i've never heard that term before! and how do you become one?
