What is the best shoes for the OR?

I am moving from floor nursing to a circulating nurse and would like to know what you think is the best shoes to wear.

something you find very comfortable! i keep a pair of open back "slides" in my locker as well as sneakers....some days my feet do better in one pair over another, some days I change at lunch time. And I try to buy new every 6-8 months. Black shoes work very well for me, don't show all the betadine and other stains that can wind up on them (despite wearing shoe covers). You can buy clogs and other shoes that are autoclavable, but I have never found a comfy pair. But many of my colleagues have those type of shoes. spend a little extra $$ for something you find very comfortable. Its very tough to make it through a shift when your feet are not liking your shoes!! avoid the shoes with holes in the tops, fluids can get in very easily...yuck!

Depends on what your doing. Scrubbing I find the clogs that have solid support to work well. If your a circulatory in busy services and your an active nurse then get some Good running or crosstrainer shoes.

I pay extra for MBT's usually, but I recently got a pair of Skechers WORK shoes (white slip ons WITH back), they do not slip AT ALL on our slippery OR floors.

I wear MBTs, the Mary Jane kind. They are SO comfortable!

Any tips for stopping my new clogs squeaking on the OR floor when I'm walking?

Only thing that would help squeaking would be to wear shoe covers.

I like fitflops. They are so comfortable. I use the goghs.
