UNF Summer 2015 BSN Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone else applying to UNF accelerated/traditional BSN for summer 2015? I'd love to talk to anyone about the application, TEAS, stats, interview, etc. I'm already getting pretty antsy about the whole application process!

I thought it sends it automatically but I'm not too sure. Did you take the TEAS at UNF?

I have not taken the TEAS as of yet; I was planning to take it as soon as this fall semester ended but I ended up getting really sick so I have not taken it yet. I'm going to have to take it in January so that I have some time to review the ATI book since I haven't been able to do much of anything for the past couple of weeks. I'm going to take it in Orlando and I know they'll email the scores to whomever you choose (for a hefty fee) but I just am not sure how long that process takes which is why I am nervous about it. Waiting till the last minute on it this has been incredibly nerve racking but it is what it is, not much I can do about it now but study and hope that my score will be good enough!

Hey! I'm planning on applying to the accelerated program too.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding how the program actually is. Do people like it? Is it brutal? How are the professors? How does it compare in general to the other Florida schools?

I know a few people who are going through the program. They really enjoy it but it's definitely a lot of studying and hard work. I hear that UNF has a good program. Have any of you considered Chamberlain University here in Jax? I went to the open house and they seem to have a great program, just very expensive.

I turned in my supplemental application form. I heard from previous UNF nursing students that we will know if we got an interview via email about a week after the deadline (January 15th). Good luck everyone!!

I thought I would feel relieved after turning in the application but I think I am actually more nervous now than I was! I feel like I can't focus on anything else, haha.

Sherri, a week after the deadline would be fantastic! I am so ready to find out the results, as I'm sure everyone is :)

Me too! I hope we all get interview slots. Last summer's competitive stats were 330 TEAS & 3.7 and above pre req GPA. Of course that can change depending on the pool of applicants. It would be great to make it in this summer!

Make sure YOU yourself send in your TEAS scores! Also, make sure you send in the supplemental application as well. Follow her directions to the T! If she wants you to send them in, then make sure you are the one that sends them in. Don't put this in anyone else's hands but your own. Take it from us! We've made that mistake before.

Good luck!!!

Don't worry! You have time! ATI usually has your test scores immediately on their website. You can send them in from there via email. Check with ATI and find out when they will be available. Don't leave it in anyone else's hands :) GOOD LUCK!

Hi there! You guys have been busy since we've last been on the board! Sorry we haven't replied earlier! We are current UNF Nursing Students and can certainly tell you that, while we cannot speak for other Florida schools, the UNF Accelerated program is intense! What students love is that you are over and done in 3 1/2 semesters! What students who are in the program experience is a doubled up work load, on top of clinical, screenings and homebase. It is an awful lot of work, but you will find that both Accelerated and Regular programs are rigorous.

Many of our Accelerated Hopefuls are in the Regular Program and are happy they are! Our accepted Accelerated Students are happy they are there, as well. It all depends on you, and your personal circumstances. It is more difficult to work while you are in the Accelerated Program vs. the Traditional, but some students do work.

We love our professors! They genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. You determine how much of a relationship you want with them. But, if you want to be in their office pretty much every day, they are available to do so. They are both great programs, but you will work very hard. Make no mistake of that!! :) You can do it! If we can, you can, too!

How is everyone feeling?! Nervous???

Hi everyone! Just found this thread. I applied for ABSN program and I am so nervous!! I know the deadline isn't even until Jan 15th and I am constantly checking my email lol. How did everyone do on the TEAS this time around? Did anyone apply anywhere else?
