  1. Hi everyone! I'm currently in my first semester at the University of Florida in their accelerated BSN program, and I'm looking for PMHNP programs that offer BSN to DNP. Rush is one of them, and they're ranked really highly, so I was wondering if any of you could post what your application details were like (GPA, GRE, experience, etc). Congrats to those who got in and good luck starting school!
  2. Hey guys! I'm currently in my first semester at UF's accelerated BSN program, and I really want to eventually go into their PMHNP program. Would any of you be willing to share how your GPA or experience was when you applied? I'm worried because I'm getting like straight B's right now
  3. Congrats everyone! I got in as well. Cant wait to meet everybody! Has anyone heard anything about what this program will actually be like? How "accelerated" is this program compared to the regular BSN? For example, I heard that UNF's ABSN students get half the time in clinicals as the traditional students. Is this going to be similar to that?
  4. I'm curious to know how your first week went! :)
  5. @Alyerra Oh my gosh.. dumb mistake!!
  6. Hello! I'm currently a senior at UF in the process of applying to a few accelerated programs around the state. As time goes by, I'm starting to get more and more curious about what these programs that I'm working so hard to get into are actually like. I'm hoping to gain acceptance into any program at all, but if I do happen to get into two or more, the time will come when I have to chose which program I'd like to be a part of - yet I know very little about any of them! There are many threads on here that talk about the scores needed and comparing prereq GPAs, but does anyone have some first-hand experience or a friend who knows about the programs themselves? Do some prepare you with more practical knowledge than others? Are the professors unbearable at some schools? How is the workload? I'm very curious to know what I'm dealing with! Thanks!
  7. Hey! I'm planning on applying to the accelerated program too. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding how the program actually is. Do people like it? Is it brutal? How are the professors? How does it compare in general to the other Florida schools?
  8. Hey everyone! I've just applied too. I feel like I'm not very competitive, and I know that the pool is going to be substantially larger this year than it has been in the past, but I'm hoping for the best! I'm currently a Health Education and Behavior student at UF, finished all my prereqs and my GPA for those is not very high, about a 3.3, but I have a 3.8 in my last 60 credits. I heard that the committee only wants to see that you've passed the minimum GRE score, so I've got that. I have a little volunteer experience at North Florida Regional Medical Center down the road, as well as some occupational therapy volunteer experience. I'm also going to be starting a full-time internship at Shands next semester. I really want to get into UF so that I can join their psychiatric nursing master's program later on. I don't know how great my chances are, but I guess we'll find out.
  9. Hi! I think this thread looks like the one everyone is using for UF's upper division program, if you wanted to join in the conversation over there! I applied as well :) I don't know if they'll turn you away; it says that they look for a variety of applicants, so you'll definitely be unique!
  10. Took it last night. Studied from the Crash Course book and took a couple practice tests from McGraw Hill. I think the ATI book seemed more challenging and closer to the real thing, so that's what I'd recommend for any future test takers. Program Type: BSN Adjusted Individual Total Score: 92.7% ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Exemplalry Mean - National: 64.3% Mean - Program: 70.6% Percentile Rank - National: 99 Percentile Rank - Program: 99 Reading: 90.5% Mathematics: 86.7% Science: 93.8% English Language and Usage: 96.7%
