UNF Summer 2015 BSN Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Anyone else applying to UNF accelerated/traditional BSN for summer 2015? I'd love to talk to anyone about the application, TEAS, stats, interview, etc. I'm already getting pretty antsy about the whole application process!

I'm so glad I found this thread, I am interested in applying to UNF's accelerated program. I was hoping some of you would have some insight on what the class/clinical schedule looked like. For example, how many days a week you went to class, labs or clinicals?

Hi Suz113, I'm in my 3rd semester of the APL program. All I can say is be VERY flexible with your schedule. For my first semester, I had class Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; BUT I had additional orientation classes called "Take Flight" scheduled on the days we didn't have any classes. My clinical didn't start until half way through the semester and it was on Wednesdays from 6:30am until 5:30pm (depending on your clinical instructor). The first semester is extremely busy and be sure to have a nice calendar and write everything that is due as you will have tests/quizzes every week. Also, we have mandatory community hours we need to complete every semester. I did a lot of my volunteer hours during weekends.

Every semester's schedule is different. If you're flexible with the changes and "roll with the punches" then you'll be less stressed. Hope this helps :)

I know this page is old... but if anyone has any advice on housing in jax or info to help me decide UNF vs USF nursing school I would love any advice :)
