Hello All!

I recently gained some information about Med Life institute. They are an LPN-RN school (with other nursing programs as well) located in Florida which offers an online/blended format way to earn your RN. After speaking to the representative she told me you come to FL for a week take some tests and exams to begin classes then do the rest online. The clinical portion is held in New Jersey at an affiliated hospital then at the end of the program you come back to take some more tests and exit exam. The total program runs about 9 months

I checked the Florida BON and saw that the school is legit and you can test for you NCLEX RN after passing the courses. This blended format is new however with the first class beginning in August of this year. I was wondering if:

A. Anyone has any experience with MedLife

B. Anyone in in the August blended class

C. Anyone is in the midst of applying to the January 18 class like myself?

It is not accredited by the BON, it is approved- this seems to be a common misperception. Accreditation of nursing programs is a voluntary process and is granted by either CCNE or ACEN. This program is not accredited by either, which may lead to problems with furthering your education should the program require graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Im think they have a summer start date too and the tuition depends on how many classes you can transfer in. You pay 3k in the beginning as hybrid students are not eligible for financial aid then from there its abut 1k a month

I forgot to ask if you have to go to nj for clinicals weekly

Holy moley, that is one of the least legitimate-looking websites I've seen in a long time. The only photos of the schools shows that they are in storefronts, apparently in strip malls. The page about the costs to attend shows a long list of fees and charges, and mention of a cost of $399.99 per credit hour, $150 lab fee per course with lab, and $400 clinical fee per course with clinical, but there is no mention anywhere I can find on the website of the actual curriculum that gives you any idea of how many courses there are, or courses with labs or clinicals. There is a link to a "net price calculator" that is supposed to help you estimate your total cost of attending, and the calculator doesn't work (at least, not on my computer). The school is only accredited by one of those phony private-for-profit accrediting groups. Graduates can expect the credits from that school to not transfer to any legitimate school when you want to further your education (I see someone mentioned above that WGU will accept the credits). I realize nobody asked my opinion, but I wouldn't touch this school with the proverbial ten-foot pole. There are so many red flags on that website ...

They aren't approved by NJBoN and can't be with a 50% NCLEX pass rate so therefore clinical cannot be done in NJ.

Hi, I'm currently in MedLife LPN to RN program, I started on August 28, 2017 and I graduate in May 2018. I take all of my courses online, traveled to FL for the first week and have to return in May for my exit exam and graduation. I attend clinicals once a week in Maryland. I see everyone is entitled to their own personal opinions but it's working for me so I can't complain. To each their own! I know several nurses who attended this school that's how I found out about it and they are doing exceptionally well and even back to further their education with their BSN. And yes, WGU does accept MedLife, I have plans on attending their right after I graduate.

Hello icandoitlpn2rn! How is the online program like do you get a lot of homework? Are the tests hard? And with the clinical for the whole ten moths you go to clinicals once every week for ten months?
