MDC Nursing Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for applicants of the nursing program at Miami Dade College for Fall term 2017. I'm currently working on my last prerequisites and will be finished this semester. I plan on taking the HESI A2 in January and applying for the Generic and Part time tracks.

Were you able to register for classes on your own or did you have an advisor help you to register? They told Transitional/Bridge Full Time and Online students at orientation that we could register this Wednesday. I'm worried that when I log on & try to register tomorrow from home it won't let me. I was compliant before orientation. I've already paid the acceptance deposit and submitted my response form before the date mentioned in the email.

I'm FT Generic. They told us on orientation that we would be able to register on our own Tuesday, July 18th (One week after our orientation date). I tried to register and I received an error message. Everyone else did too that tried to register themselves. I had to go to Medical Campus Building 2, 3rd floor to register with the School of Nursing.

I had to do this ASAP because the classes I wanted were filling up. I went to campus and a line was starting to form and everything. Luckily, I was able to get the classes I wanted. I would highly suggest to be prepared to go to the campus just in case this happens to you too.

Do you know what time they open?

I'm not sure. I found the phone number on the MDC website. You can call them and find out. (305)237-4101

Mines still say preselect

Check it again. I just looked on MyMDC and it doesn't say "PreSelect" anymore.

Thanks for the number. They said they'll be open from 8 am - 4 pm tomorrow.

I was able to register on my own last week. The system gave me no issues concerning course selection.

Anyone doing Face to face transitional program I created a what's app account email me name and number @ [email protected] so I can add you

Guys does anyone know this answer? Anyone going to Homestead? I've been looking ahead at the class options and they're somewhat confusing.. any advise?

Semester 1 by far. You will have days off. Semester 2 has been brutal, classes 3 days a week and clinicals twice a week. Try to get afternoon classes if possible, they seem to be easier. Don't worry by the end of semester 2, half your classmates will be gone and course selection gets easier. GL bro!

I still don't know lol... I'm afraid and somewhat excited as well. Going into Nursing school at 32 yrs old with a current full time job and losing my benefits with that company is scary! I'm married as well so it's tough...thank god for Post 9-11 GI BIll and my company offering a part time of which I have to see if I can do it or not still..

It's a huge leap.. not sure if anyone else has done this before

Same boat, ex military 68WM6, you'll be fine and you can only take CPR refresher if it has expired within 3 months.

Has anyone had to complete an appeal form for financial aid? I just got an email about this today because I have excess credits. :(

Your at your max for receiving financial aide? I got an email to this morning.

I also got an email that said I'm about to reach my limit for excess credits, so I think I'll be having to do an appeal next term. At orientation they said this is the case for most people who come in with a degree.
