Nursing Students School Programs

I am accepting a seat at Baptist School in San Antonio for Spring 2014. Does anyone know when the first day of school is?

What about nearby apartments that range from 500-600 month for 1 bedroom. I am relocating from Houston to San Antonio.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, Jan 6th! I've been wondering the same thing. My best guess is that we'll have them by orientation/student success since we'll be going over our reading assignments. I've heard of students in the past getting theirs a month after acceptance, but I don't know if that's still how they do it. If you happen to get a Friday clinical, driving back home would be a viable option since the clinicals usually run from 0645-1245.

Hi Kmoc! you said clinicals are usually from 645 to 1245. And I remember being told during in processing that they like to have clinical days back to back like mon & tue or Wed & Thurs. Question do you by any chance know the classroom hours we will be keeping. I so in to work each day at 3 and I'm hoping we will get out of class each day by at least 2. I got your contact info, thanks! Have you bought all the books we're going to be using during the 1st semester yet. Looks like Amazon is going to be the best place to get them. The prices seem a little cheaper there than what is quoted on the school provided book list. Also, on that list, the 1st book listed foundations for nursing practice. The notes say, that we much purchase SLS sccess package to participate in next clinical course. Do you know what exactly the SLS is? I don't want to buy this book online and then find out that it was supposed to come with something extra and then not have it.

Classes are typically held three days a week from 9am and 2pm, approximately; clinicals are held twice a week, usually from 6:45am until 12:45pm. Please note that this schedule is subject to change." I haven't bought the books yet, I'm going to wait until the official book list is posted (even though I doubt they'll change). As for the SLS package, I'm not 100% sure! but on amazon when you use the ISBN to search, a package form of the book comes up, it includes a DVD and study guide. I will be sure to ask on orientation/ student success days. There's also another book on the list somewhere that I cannot find on amazon that I think we will have to buy from L&M, but I've already forgotten which book that is, I don't think it's first semester anyways. If anyone else knows anything about this I would love to know, too!

Hello George. I have spoken to folks at financial aid several times this past week. When I asked when we would be getting our award letter, they said in the next 2 weeks at the latest. Again, even though this will cover the tuition, it will not come arrive in time to cover books for the first semester. Again, this coming from several people in the program. I went ahead and got the Fundamentals of Nursing off Amazon, as the eight seems to be very new. Processing day was a rush. Very quick and really allot of hands on information for what to expect. My friend in the Fall 2014 program has class M-W 9-12 and clinicals on T-F 6:45 to 12-45...I'm actually having lunch with her this week to get some clarity on things. Let me know if have anything you would like me to ask her. Have a good day! Karen

It was allot of information and I would have loved to have had some question/answer time. Just to get some clarity, but it will all come together.

Hi guys! I emailed financial aid about my loan situation and they told me that I was selected for verification, so I filled out the form and dropped it off earlier this morning. I just got my financial award email today, so be on the lookout! Whew, what a relief!

Hi guys when did y'all find out y'all got in? I've been talking to a an advisor because I missed deadline for Spring 2014 by a week or so. I have applied everywhere from here to Houston. I live here in SA. Well anyway the counselor just emailed me the Gallup survey & said I'll know if I got within a week, but I see all of you have done all your in processing, financial aid etc. I'm excited but I don't want to bring my hopes up high. I'm thinking maybe it's for the Fall. I have missed every spring 2014 admit date. Was waiting & have applied for the Fall 2014 for many schools. Just curious to see how far behind I am if she did mean for the Spring!!

Thanks

I found out about a little over two weeks after I took the gallop survey, but they said it would take that long. Processing day was just a bunch of paperwork and making a $300 deposit. Our orientation isn't until mid December, so you're not too far behind. Good luck and let us know!

Thanks for replying. She just emailed me saying it's for the Spring. I'm getting a lil excited now lol. I'll let y'all know what happens. Is that $300 applied to the tuition?

Awesome! And yes, the $300 goes toward your first semester's tuition.

They seem to always take in a few extra people at he last minute. Apparently they have to fill all the slots and sometimes that means processing some last minute entries. Sounds like there's a good chance you'll be starting with us in January! As for that Gallop poll, lol...they should just call it what it is, a psych evaluation. Good luck to ya!
