  1. Hi there! I just finished the RN program at baptist. Your thread caught my eye. As for SIM attire scrub set is to be worn. However you will see that they aren't too strict if people accidentally wear school T-shirts. Bring a jacket as it gets pretty chilly up there. Good luck y'all.
  2. You are correct @freet, your pharm course will be in the spring. You do do not choose you schedule, it is chosen for you with the exception of summer classes (gen eds/pharm/adaptations) if you have not already taken them. @amandaac7 you will be performing basic care, much like what CNAs do for the fist 8 weeks. You will take and chart vitals, glucose levels, and basic head to toe assessments. Bed baths, eventually giving oral meds, helping your patient ambulate and many other things. You will have your clinical instructor there on the floor with you and they will supervise tasks like giving meds. They will be there for any questions you have. You will also have a post conference which will sometimes include a math quiz, that comes in your second 8 weeks I believe. I'm sure @stefanie will correct me if I have missed anything important.
  3. For the first semester, you will receive you financial aid 30 days after the first day of school, I do believe.
  4. Our pharmacology course, as told by my instructor this summer, is/was being revised. It was completely disorganized for the first summer session, I do not know about more recent and future semesters. The biggest problem my classmates and I found was that in your first semester you will be taught to study and apply your knowledge the "NCLEX way", which is a "what is the best/safest/most-correct answer" but in pharm it is fact based. It's pure memorization, which is hard to convert back to after learning the other way. You're also learning about thee to five prototype drugs each chapter and have about ten chapters to cover for each exam. I'd recommend taking it in the summer (especially if you've completed your gen eds) so that you will have less distractions.
  5. Noteability rocks! I am also a student at BSHP and I highly recommend this.
  6. Good luck cljd, and congrats Violet. BSHP's RN program is a good one, you won't be disappointed.
  7. Hi Kels6365, I'm not enrolled in the LVN program but I am in the RN program. I hope I can answer some things for you. First off, the school is great. They actually educate you and challenge you with NCLEX style exams. As for the schedule, the first semester (I am currently finishing this particular semester) would be an okay time to work and go to school, many of my peers are currently working positions full time, part time and even pool jobs at the hospitals we do our rotations at. I took the TEAS entrance test but high schoolers taken the accuplacer and have gotten decent scores. I hope this answers your questions. Good luck to you.
  8. Yes, and not an online one either!
  9. Hi! I have not gotten any of the books yet, I'm going to wait until next week when the list is finalized. As for the blue card, I have not received mine yet, either.
  10. Hi guys, I found out where our schedules are located. If you go to the school's website under current students click on "sonisweb" and using your student ID from your financial aid award letter and your pin from when you applied you can log in. Hope this helped!!
  11. If you've been accepted into the day nursing program, they will assign you class times similar to my previous post. I do believe they told us that instead of scheduling ourselves, they will register us for our first semester classes and then starting second semester we will register for our own classes. It's been so long since processing day, I've forgotten many details, so that may not be the case. I would check with our advisor to see what they mean by "flexible".
  12. You apply for either the day or night program, but they make your schedule for you, for the first semester.
  13. No, not yet. Have no idea when we will, hoping soon though! Did you get in??
