PSY 120 Elementary Statistical Reasoning

Anyone taken this course? I'm thinking of taking this with NRSE 451 Transitions in order to finish this course before the switch to semesters.

How difficult was this course? I've taken a lot of online courses, so that is not an issue. I am OKAY with math (I got an A in College Algebra by really applying myself). I'm also working 1 full-time job, and another part-time. I'm going to cut down on the part-time job though.

Did you guys see the note in the db about Q 13 for Mod 4 assignment? That was a tricky question. I'm glad Professor K gave us a hint. Pay attention to what the question is asking for.... median not mode. I would have gotten it wrong.

Totally BOMBED assignment number three!! Such stupid calculation mistakes and I used decimals for the stem plot question instead of whole numbers so I got all of them wrong!!!! I am so mad at myself! Funnily enough I thought assignment 4 was harder but only missed three questions as opposed to 12 on assignment three. It sucks that it is answers only, because one wrong number and you are out...I hope others are doing better than me lol

I bombed Mod 3 too, and barely passed 4. I was trying to do it in a hurry because unfortunately I got behind in it all :( But even with that, I'm surprised I did as well on Assignment 4 too.

Yeah that is what happened to me, I got behind and was scrambling to finish it all... I am scared of the midterm.

Sorry you didn't do so well Imimica.......... you are right, it is so easy to make a mistake. You have to be very meticulous in stats. and really pay attention to what the question is asking for. I did OK with 3 and 4, but I got one of the percentile questions wrong in Mod 4 and I am going to question it.

This is my first week of the five week stat course. We have two modules per week and I've finished the first two mods. So far, it's not nearly as horrible as I had envisioned, though I'm sure it will get more difficult in the coming weeks. Have any of you taken your proctored exams at an OU branch besides Athens, and if so did you still have to fill out the "outside proctor" online form?

I scheduled my proctored exam at a branch of OU. I didn't have to fill out the outside proctor form; I sent them an email and was actually able to schedule mid term and final via email.

Thanks for the info about proctoring DidiRN. I will call or email the branch I want to proctor at and get everything set up. I still don't understand why the tests for this class have to be proctored, especially considering that they are open book/notes exams. Thanks again!

Hmm, maybe its so people don't skype or IM with someone else ( like a super brainey math nerd)... But Gosh I sure am glad it is Open book, and open note.

I understand it while I am working on it, but then when we move on to the next module, I like forget everything I just learned. I swear my brain is like a sieve sometimes.

I actually wrote out in my notes Step one, step two so on and so forth. I need it to be that basic.

I do the same thing, have to write out the steps. In fact, I've actually watched the videos more than once because I didn't like how I wrote it down in my notes lol.
