Anyone taken this course? I'm thinking of taking this with NRSE 451 Transitions in order to finish this course before the switch to semesters.

How difficult was this course? I've taken a lot of online courses, so that is not an issue. I am OKAY with math (I got an A in College Algebra by really applying myself). I'm also working 1 full-time job, and another part-time. I'm going to cut down on the part-time job though.

I will be taking the 5 week stats class in July and have been lurking here a little bit. How necessary is it to have BOTH books? Are you doing assignments from both of them? Does one book offer info that can't be found in the other? Thanks.

For Professor K, you use both books. I think each book gives a different perspective and the Prof uses examples from both books. The content is very organized. I am liking this course although some of the stuff I know I will never use.

Professor K has videotaped lectures and I think they are helpful. I also go to youtube to find other views of the topics and find that helpful too. But you have to do the exercises in the book to practice and be sure you understand and remember the stuff.

Good luck with the 5 week. I'm glad I'm doing the 8 week. I am spending several hours on this class, I think I might drop Family Nursing class and just concentrate on this course. I don't think I can handle 2 at a time, especially stats.

I'm glad I took the 8 week also. The first two modules weren't bad at all, but I'm still nervous about the rest of it. I am not only taking this but also PRCM 325J Business Comm....ugh. But I knew this would be a challenge. I thought about taking the Bus. Comm. in the fall, but I saw the Fall class is full already! Plus it would put me behind if I took it later anyways.

I could not have imagined a five week stats course either. I am taking stats, latin, intro to soc, health interventions and health appraisal. I do not think I have ever been happier with a B when I tested out of health appraisal. Still, this summer quarter will be kicking my ass and stats is on top of the list lol

BRAVE WOMAM!

I tip my hat to you. Are you working and taking classes??

Yes, Inimica18 is indeed a brave woman! I'm taking microbiology and Art 110 all quarter, and stats kicks in during July. The art and micro are proving to be very doable but I'm worrying about how I'll manage when stats kicks in. My plan is to get nearly all of my art assignments done this week so I can concentrate more on stats when it starts. Everything I've heard about stats is scaring me a bit. Thanks for the info about the books.

Thanks guys, although sometimes I think its just bordering on stupid. I do work full-time nights in a PICU :uhoh3: I can say I have been thankful for low census the last two weeks lol

I just want to be done asap so I can focus on what kind of masters I want. I would like to get all my schooling done before I have kids and my biological clock is ticking lol

How did everyone do on the first 2 assignments. I did OK, but it has taken me forever to get through Mod 3 assignment.

I kept changing answers. I think I did it right and then recheck and come up with a different answer.

I think the reason they use greek letters is because it's all 'greek to me',

Tell me how I will ever use this stuff, I just can't imagine.

I lost one point on assignment one and two on assignment two. I have not even looked at module 3 yet. I'm scared :/ I plan to do it on the weekend...

Hey all. Does this class require the use of a scientific calculator? Or just a regular one? I think this point is the make or break for me on which stats class I take. Thanks!!

I emailed Dr K and asked this same question, she told me that we didn't need a special calculator.

You did better than me. I lost 3 points on the 1st and 2 on the second. Who knows about the 3rd. I am really busting my butt on this class. Yesterday I spent like 4 or 5 hours on it.

I'm glad I decided not to take Family this month. I know it will put me behind, but I don't think I could have handled both courses.
