PSY 120 Elementary Statistical Reasoning

Anyone taken this course? I'm thinking of taking this with NRSE 451 Transitions in order to finish this course before the switch to semesters.

How difficult was this course? I've taken a lot of online courses, so that is not an issue. I am OKAY with math (I got an A in College Algebra by really applying myself). I'm also working 1 full-time job, and another part-time. I'm going to cut down on the part-time job though.

I've been waiting on the Blackboard to open.... still not. I sure wish I could get a head start on this. BTW, I just verified my hospital library does proctor exams for OU. Check out your hospital if you need to find a place for the midterm and final exam.

My class was open by now. But not all instructors open their class early.

Specializes in nursing.

Maybe because it's the 8 week class...you'll have more time.

I emailed Professor K. She said since it is an 8 week course she wasn't putting it up as early. But she said it should be up soon.

Oh. When did stats become 8wks. Should be less stressful then.

I'm not sure, but maybe just for this summer, since it is a short schedule due to semesters starting in the fall.

They offered the 5 weeks too.

Hey I saw on another thread that you said we have to have proctored exams for this class? Was that on the syllabus?

From the mini syllabus posted on the RN to BSN Academic Achievement site it says:

Exam Requirements:

• There will be one midterm and one final exam, each worth 100 points. • Both exams areproctored exams. Thus, it is critical that students secure for themselves a suitable proctor early in the course (more details are provided in the syllabus).

• Both exams are pencil

andpaper format with open book/notes and a calculator. 2.5 hours are permitted to complete each exam.

The midterm exam will be given near the end of the third week, whereas the final exam will be administered during the fifth week (see syllabus for details).

Oh that's right, the syllabus isn't even out yet lol. I live within 30 miles of a OU branch campus, so I'm hoping I can go there. I probably should call to make sure. Exactly what kind of calculator should we get for this class?

I spoke too soon...I see it's now up on Blackboard now

I know...sigh. I cannot imagine doing this course in five weeks. It looks like the pace of it will be ok. We only need a 73 to pass right???
