Hi I am interested in enrolling in the onlin BSN program but I have a few questions. I will graduate from my nursing school in September and I won't take my NCLEX until October so I plan on enrolling for Spring 2013. I want to take some prerequisites that I may need in during the fall at my local community college. Can anyone tell me besides statistics some prerequisites that OU looks for? Is child psychology a prequisite? I do have an associates degree in business.

    Thanks

This link goes over all the general education requirements.

  2. So now I am getting confused....When I look and OU's website it looks like there are a bunch of tiers....tier 1 gen education requirements needs 12 credit hours, and what is quantative skills? tier 2 gen education requirements 32 credit hours needed....then there is support courses 58 credit hours, and lower division nursing courses 40 credit hours....do some of the courses you have taken before intermix with others?? I am starting to feel defeated like this is never ending Thanks in advance if anyone can help...Just seems like a lot of credits...
  3. 40 credits is for your ADN or Diploma is 60 credits. Tier I - and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong - are the things like Freshman comp, algebra, etc. Tier 2 - that is a requirement for a 300 level english class (junior level). I fulfilled that requirement at OU with business communications. All my tier I stuff was fulfilled prior to OU by classes I took at the community college level and another state university. Not sure what tier Cross cultural perspectives falls under - but I fulfilled that with a cultural anthropology course. Tier 3 is fulfilled by your nursing capstone course - nursing excellence. There are actually no more credits required than there would be for any bachelors degree - seems overwhelming at first but just look at it class by class. There are some here that were required to take 20 classes to meet the OU graduation requirements ... I am sure one of them will chime in. Oh michelemybell ....

classes taken prior to OU count in that semester credit total .. and I have found the OU is quite generous with transfer credits. Good luck -

Thank-you so much rninme!! This make sense now!! I have read that they are quite generous with transfer credits so that is great! I really appreciate it! It sounds like they are pretty great with helping once you are enrolled too. I am relieved now!! On to a nice weekend

Ahhhh yes.....the horror of it all! I am down to 18 or so they say....with the change to semesters. The nursing (11) plus stats, junior comp, nutrition, micro (can you say "repeat"?), chemistry, cross cultural, and finally, music.

The link they gave for it doesn't even work for me, to download it at all. Says the link is not valid. Where are you downloading it from?
