Anyone else taking Assessment for Fall third session?
Suggestions from anyone who has taken it already?

Okay...I started to wonder....can you have a reference list that had no in-text citation. According to Purdue OWL any in-text citation must be in your reference list and anything on your reference list must have an in-text citation. Therefore I conclude: The three references we must have for Healthy People 2020 assignment should have minimum of three in-text citation. Which will then be listed on your reference page.

That's how I take it. support what you write about.

Exactly! Don't over think the assignments. Do them like you've been doing for all of your other courses....in text citations with reference. I'm including 3 in text citations from journal articles with ref. and then some in text/ref. from CDC and HP 2020. Now the health assessment assignment is very time consuming, I just have a few more areas to fill out, and genogram is done. I would like to submit tomorrow. Working this weekend, so I'll have to do my DB replies on my lunch break.

I'm moving right along, too. DB and replies done. HP 2020 done. Started assessment this evening after a 10-hour day. Didn't finish due to being exhausted and have to get back up at 5. Will work on that next few days. I'm taking one week at a time and not really looking ahead. Not very motivated with this class for some reason. I've always worked very hard and strived for good grades but I think I'm just tired of the vagueness and how these classes are just strewn together with no thoughtful input. Definitely not dwelling on assignments too much!
That was my point exactly! Directions said ... then find three more articles from journals. I'm like ... what???? I did three in-text citations with references and one of them is the HP2020 website. I thought, whatever.

I know exactly what I want to put in my 2020 paper but I have killed sooooo much time looking for journal references to back me up that are within the last 5 years. It's frustrating to lose so much time looking for just the right article.

I wouldn't sign it. It says faculty so the faculty ( TA or prof) needs to print it out and sign it.Your name goes on the first line at the top.

You do not have to do references for Healthy People 2020. When a professor assigns an article or web site they often state you do not have to reference the article they have assigned. You only need to reference the journal articles. Therefore...you need to find three journal articles to support your 2020
objective.
The assignment does NOT state find three MORE articles.
Select one leading health problem from HP 2020
Identify three scholarly journal articles on the selected HP 2020 leading health problem
Describe a teaching topic and audience from the selected HP 2020 leading health problem
Frankly...I found your question confusing myself. Sorry.
It took me all of 5 minutes. How exactly are you going about this? Just go to Ohio Library, CINHAL database, advanced search, boolean phrase, check off research article, and you should get more than enough information to cite for your paper. The KEY is what you place in the boolean phrase for your search.
In my last class (Community) there was this long announcement in RED about plagerism and even inadvertant plagerism is not excused. So if I mention it , I cite it... I don't want to have any issues with my papers... so I cite everything. I had one assignment that had like 5 or 6 references. I didn't get dinged. Of course there is no standard grading in this program, it depends on the TA. So we will see how it goes with this one.
I understand. Our research TA told us time and time again not to REFERENCE the article she assigned. I can go back and find her critiques if you like. The point is we are not to find three MORE articles. The whole point of APA for OU has been peer reviewed journal articles to support OUR thoughts.
Also, just got this from my TA Q&A board
Only need reference list for Healthy people assignment with no in-text citations. And do need in-text citations and reference list for Health Assessment.
Unbelievable.

That is generally how I do things, especially the DB. Find an article to support my thought.
Did your TA say why not to reference the assigned article? I'm just curious as to why.
