Fall 12 NRSE 4520 Assessment and Promotion

I will have to go back and review my grades. Will write on this further.

In the meantime, I have STERNLY requested that the TA review the references for both assignments. She is mixed up and frankly I am sick of it!!

I will post what she says to my question. There is no where in the assignment for the ASSESSMENT to have references. She states there is.

"No need to include the assigned article in the reference list unless you are citing the author's ideas"

Those are the exact words of my TA in EBP class (Evidenced Based)

She stated this several times. In other words...If you say The Healthy People Objective that I chose to write about is

Blah, blah, blah...then you do not need to include a reference to healthypeople.gov because it is understood what you are talking about. You are not plagerizing.

It would be like referring to a dictionary or the bible...no need to reference it.

Okay...I was wrong about the ASSESSMENT...it does need references. However, it does not state what kind of references. So, I am assuming it would be any resources we used.

I hate TA ness!!

Our TA...did state to only have a reference list for the Healthy people 2020 assignment...which makes no sense.

Sorry for any misunderstandings I may have caused, the lack of inconsistency from one TA to another is glaring and maddening.

Also, just got this from my TA Q&A board
Only need reference list for Healthy people assignment with no in-text citations. And do need in-text citations and reference list for Health Assessment.
Unbelievable.

What are we supposed to reference for the assessment? My TA said in text citations for Healthy People. But according to her the instructions say that and the don't.

My understanding is that the Healthy People assignment, you are preparing for the big teaching paper later on in the course, and apparently they want us to research a bit on our topic for that paper now, and provide the references now that will be using then. That's my understanding.

My understanding is that the Healthy People assignment, you are preparing for the big teaching paper later on in the course, and apparently they want us to research a bit on our topic for that paper now, and provide the references now that will be using then. That's my understanding.

I asked on the Q&A board, because I don't understand this. What are we supposed to be referencing, like articles on what? There is nothing in the instructions indicating what to reference.

This is how I took it: I picked out the topic for the teaching plan, then I looked up articles that I was going to be using to developing the teaching plan later on in the course. From that list I put down in the assignment this week.

I have no idea. I'm finished with my assessment but was reading over the directions one more time. Says to include reference page at end of the paper. Now I'm confused.

I referenced our text for the assessment paper. That is where i found the material to do the assessment. However I did not quote anything... just left a reference haha.

I'm working on my healthy people 2020 paper now... Someone left a question to the TA asking if we need an abstract. The TA responded with "Whenever APA format is required, if the instructions do not say "no abstract needed", then you should include an abstract. Thanks for checking!" I've never included an abstract... this class is BS!

If there is an abstract, then I'm screwed. I didn't do one. I thought I read no abstract needed. Maybe that was a different assignment. Well, my computer messed up this morning. When I submitted my paper, I checked to be sure it went through, and I saw that somehow my running head was missing. When I went back to my file and checked, it was there. I've emailed the TA to ask if I can do a resend, No answer yet, wish me luck. Other wise I'm sure it's a big deduction.
