DB is done! 1/2 through the assessment, plan to finish up the HP 2020 tomorrow. As for the genogram, I did one for Diversity, and did it with MS Word, but if you are not familiar with it, might be kinda hard to do. Hand drawing would work better. Good luck all!

For the Healthy People assignment. It seems they are saying to start a reference page...because you will use that to formulate your teaching plan in later weeks.

But, yes, clear as mud...again!!

I did in-text citations mostly because I didn't understand the purpose of just creating a reference list. haven't started the comprehensive assessment yet.

I did two in-text citations and put the others on a separate page? Early this morning, I emailed the TA to find out if this was okay, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

For better or worse submitted Assessment assignment tonight and the DB was done this morning. Now for the Healthy People paper. Just treat it like any other APA formatted paper I guess. I haven't taken a good look at the rubric yet. I guess I will tackle it tomorrow.

Just wondering, are you all reading all of the chapters or just skimming?

I have decided to do my brother for the assessment assignment. For those who have written on their family members, what have you written for the Client Consent Form to sign as the faculty signature? Your own name?

I did two in-text citations and put the others on a separate page? Early this morning, I emailed the TA to find out if this was okay, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I asked on the Q&A board, but haven't got a response. Love that we are expected to check our email daily, but the questions are not answered daily. There was an announcement posted, you would think questions would be answered.

I love when you ask a question and they give you a response indicating that you're stupid. I was wondering if they wanted the extra three references separated from the ones that I cited in the paper. I asked about references and the TA told me that they go at the end of a paper. Okay. I've written about 50 papers so far for school -- duh. What did others do? I think I am just going to cite them somehow in the paper, although the directions seem to indicate to just pick three other references and make a reference list.

I wouldn't sign it. It says faculty so the faculty ( TA or prof) needs to print it out and sign it.

Your name goes on the first line at the top.

I get ya... even when I write my question and why I am unclear and ask for clarification, I get the same answer, .. read the announcement, or read what I already read and am unclear about.

You know... as nurses when we get orders from physicians that are unclear, we are REQUIRED to clarify and ask questions. You would think that the nursing professors in a Nursing Program would get that...

another thing to put on an evaluation.... Professors do not teach. They don't clarify or answer questions when students ask for help. That is what I really appreciated when I took stats. Everytime I asked a question the TA would answer and show examples and suggest additional reading.. That is Teaching in my book.

Okay...I started to wonder....can you have a reference list that had no in-text citation. According to Purdue OWL any in-text citation must be in your reference list and anything on your reference list must have an in-text citation.

Therefore I conclude: The three references we must have for Healthy People 2020 assignment should have minimum of three in-text citation. Which will then be listed on your reference page.
