So I thought I would tell you about my adventure so far with excellence..

Mod 1:

2 "assignments"- one looking at various websites to figure out what they do for the US, not to bad, the second assignment was all about the US Global Health Initiatives, aka ObamaCare, I struggled with this one because well I have major disinterest in the subject

we also had a DB, not bad responses didn't need sources

Mod 2:

Uh.... how about 5 assignments this week... and 2 DBs... some of the assignments weren't hard, i mostly struggled with the DBs because one was about medicare and medicaid, and one assignment was all about the various types of insurance, HMO PPO PSO etc.. VERY exhausting

LOL…I think I said that in one of my post. We are so accustomed to a lot of detail, we don't know what to do w/a lack for direction.

What's stressing you guys?

For me, the rubic for both papers are the same. The website one states "in your own words" however, the paper still requires citations and references. So I guess I need to be careful with what I write....the Global paper sucks because, well, I am just not very interested in the assignment and with little guidance I have to figure it out myself. boo

I guess in the other classes I got so used to using the rubic for writing my papers that this one kinda makes me do it myself...and I don't want too! :banghead: Oh well. My papers are just about done anyways. I hate turning in the first papers of the mod. It always makes me nervous.

Yes, the rubric is exactly the same for both papers and so are the learning objectives. Did you go solely by the directions or did you incorporate each learning objective into your papers?

I'm thinking about just writing an intro. paragraph, the information they want under the directions and then a conclusion paragraph. Of course everything will be done in "true APA format" with a title page and reference page. I don't think they want us to write a paragraph about each learning objective, it doesn't sound like that. Hope this works!

for the global paper I did use the objectives, for the website paper i followed the directions listed.

Probably a good idea. I'm doing the website paper now, all I can say is I would rather have a lobotomy than do one more nursing class. I'm glad we'll be done June 9th!

Don't over-think these papers ladies...Just follow whatever the rubic says and you'll be fine...

Just want to say...congratulations for being so close to the end. I envy all of you!

Thanks EmJean! It will be here before you know it! Good Luck!

I just want an opinion from you guys: I am registering from Nursing research and nursing excellence in the fall, now will both of these classes be doable at the same time?? I have no other classes to take besides these two. I am pressed for time, because I have a vacation planned in october and thus wanted to take them both together.

If you are working full time and trying to take both of these classes I might not recommend it. I thought nursing research was tough and excellence I am taking right now. Excellence is not hard so far just a lot of busy work. For example I have 7 assignments due this week. With research I had a test every week and a discussion board. If you have a few days off through the week that you can dedicate to these classes I personally think it is doable. We can do anything for 5 weeks, right?

Thank you for your reply. I do work full-time, 36hrs a week. I have been taking up to four courses at a time, including management, diversity, and business comm all at once, so it sounds like it might be possible. I thought community was the worst class yet, so as long as you are telling me its not harder than that... lol

If you've been doing 4 at a time you should be fine and it sound like you have 4 days off through the week to dedicate to school. I don't think you'll have a problem. Good Luck!
