I had one pt. name her baby "Dragon". The weirdest name I have ever encountered though is another employee at my hospital. His name is Baby Boy. Seriously. It was filed out that way on his birth certificate and they never changed it. Its on his name badge and everything!

There is a Slavic name, Dragan, that means "dear one." Maybe it was that name. Dragon is a variant spelling. And some folks hear Dragan and think it's Dragon and think that's cool.

I had a 45 yo patient a few months ago who was named "Herbert Parsley." He went by "Herb." Herb... Parsley....

As if that is not obviously terrible, we asked he and his mom if they got a lot of comments about his name while he was growing up. They looked at us like we were from mars. They had NO IDEA that the name was weird!!

My hubby does social security disability and he SWEARS that he PERSONALLY has seen people named Lemonjello and Orangejello (pronounced le-mohngello and or-ahngello). I don't know.
LMAO!!! My mother-in-law taught these twins. They were delivered at the hospital I work at and still visit the pediatrician I work for.

I went to school with a girl named Dixie Starr. Her sister was named Hygie Starr. I asked where "Hygie" came from, and Dixie said that her parents loved the song, "Haji Baba" by Nat King Cole, and she's named after that. There were more Starr siblings, but I didn't know their names.
