Thank you so much. Just called and left them a message. Do you know the pass/fail rate of their students. Did you get training there? How was the instructors? How was the facility?

Low Cost CNA Training Metro Detroit
Hello All, I'm looking into getting CNA training in the metro Detroit area. I know about the Red Cross which is $1000, but I remember finding a class that was like $600, but of course can't remember the info. Does anyone know of any other classes classes around the $600 range? Any help would be appreciated.

Need Direction
Hello All, I need some experience. I tried to take the 4 week CNA class, but I can't get time off from work to do so . I was looking to become a CNA to do some part time work on the weekends to get me some experience and get used to being on my feet. I sit at a computer all day. Does any one have any suggestions to places I can apply to w/o have the CNA certification? Thanks in Advance.

No worker left behind???
I made and appt today for June 6th at the location on Michigan Ave and Schaefer. Am I reading this right, can you just walk in and get an orientation or your 1st orientation. What are my chances getting funded for the Accelerated BSN program at Wayne State. Once, I'm accepted I'll be a full time student. Is it only for 2 year program and for those going part-time? Thanks in advance and Thanks to everyone who responded to my post.

No worker left behind???
Ok, my question is should I take a trip to a Michigan Works facility if I'm working. From the website: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/nwlb/NWLB_Fact_Sheet_Final_203216_7.pdf, it states that any employed worker making less that $40,000 is eligible. I'm trying to get money to help me with the accelerated program at Wayne State, which will only be one year. What are your thoughts? If you think it'll look good for me I'll be there 1st think in the morning. BTW, I'm single with no children. Thanks in advance.

Nurse Assistant Training with American Red Cross
Hello All, I'm getting back into the swing of things with completing my Nursing Pre-requisites. I currently work as an Air Charter Manager making $38,000, but I need experience. I was thinking of taking the Nurse Assistant Training class with the American Red Cross. The class is 3 weeks for $950. My questions are: Have any of you had this training? If so, from your knowledge what's the pass/fail rate? Is this the best way to get the experience I need? I know it will be a big pay cut, but with my getting my Nursing Degree (I'm planning on the Accelerated option for 2nd degree students) is there much opportunity for career advancement? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:heartbeat

Outrageous ER Stories
Hello, This weekend I was watching a TV show on the Discovery Health Channel and I believe it was Unexplained stories of the E.R. Now, I understand that there will be times (I'm taking prereq's for a Nursing Program) when you'll see things that you never thought you'd see. Anyway, there was this homeless Man that walked into the ER with a mid-calf boot that had completely turned into MAGGOTS! Yes, maggots! My questions to RN's is how often do you come across things like this. I can stomach a lot of things, but I was grossed out. Please share your thoughts and insight. Thank You

NSNA - Student Nurses' Association
Is anyone part of the National Student Nurses' Association? If so, what are the benefits of being a member other than what they have listed on their website. Are there any other associations/clubs that are useful in the field of Nursing, that are great resume builders? I don't have any Nursing experience so I'm trying to build a resume with the hopes that a couple of associations/clubs and other affiliations would help. What are your thoughts?

A & P at Wayne State
Ok Here's my story...... I have 4 classes left to take:yeah:: PSY 101 BIO 121 (A&P) CHM 201 *May take MTH 011 just to refresh my math skills If I take A&P next semester at Wayne State (which is one class) and the other 2/3 classes at WCCCD, I'll be able to apply at Oakland University in September. If not then I take A&P I and PSY 101 at WCCCD next semester and A&P II and CHM 201 the following semester - I won't be able to apply for Nursing School until Jan. '09. My question is: Is A&P at Wayne State as difficult as they say it is ? I mean I do want to maintain a high GPA so getting a C or below is not an option. I also work full time, so will this be too much? Any suggestions will be helpful. :plsebeg: Thanks in Advance
