Sucky weekend

We managed to lose 3 babies this weekend.

Saturday: 38 week IUFD.

Saturday: 36 week Trisomy 18. Baby made it to about 24 hours old before she passed in her mother's arms.

Sunday: 40 week IUFD

Then, to top it off, another patient that was upset that her baby had red hair. "How soon do you think I can start dying it a different color?" :rolleyes:

I really could have smacked her. And then offered her assistance in carrying these babies to the morgue.

I'm sorry. Just kinda had to let that go.

HEATHER, sorry you had such a bad wknd. ls it pretty uncommon to lose so many in such l short period.....l would think so. l have known 3 ppl personally who experienced iufd...realy sad. Take care.........LR

Intra-uterine fetal demise/death. Stillborns. We had one last week and it was heartbreaking, I think I'd probably lose it if I had 3 in a row.

I mean they all weren't personally my patients, but just as a whole, it completely brought down the morale of the entire unit.

:o FD sucks anyway you look at it Heather. If you are like us.....kind of comes in groups......

Gary......my honey......just changed over to RT.....for a much needed break.........just his luck........11 month (+).......resp distress.......coded....died.........his first day on. It was awful! And I didn't even know how to comfort him. Happened to be the first Christmas baby of our hospital last year that I delivered.

Ah Heather that sucks!!! UUUGGHH! You know, all fetal demises are horrible, but three in a row at term. (sigh) Term IUFD's are SO hard. How sad for those parents (and staff).

Think we should start a azz-kickin' caravan for the red-headed baby's mama? I'm ready when you are all.
