Shortage Time From UK-USA

World UK

Published

Thought I would start a new thread. I want to know what is the shortest time that any RN has taken to emigrate from UK to the USA? And there are a few of us on here who are starting off or who are on the long road and some nearing the end, and it would be nice to get an average length of time.

For the record most of you know I am going via an agency (cause I didnt find this web site til after I took nclex)

I joined the agency 1st August 2004.

I took my NCLEX 17th january 2005,

Visa screen approved end April 2005

Medical 29th October

Interview US embassy 16th November 2005

Arrived in US 1st Dec 2005

My papers were filed for visa screen and green card last day of January 2005.

We got an AMEX card not long before we left for the US after reading about it on this site. When we arrived here we transfered to a $ AMEX card and got $7000 credit on it which we didn't think was too bad for starters. Regarding US bank accounts we opened an account with Bank of America, shortly after arrival without social security numbers.

Specializes in med/surg.

We followed this advice from others on here & have got an AMEX here in the UK. So that's good news, thanks April for telling us all again. It's just this sort of info that is soooooo invaluable to us poor mortals still left here waiting!

I trained back in 85 so my hospital/school of nursing have long gone- will that slow things down?

my school of nursing was closed down, but the transcripts were all relocated to trust offices. we were able to get them from there. called the hospital and local colleges until somebody could give me the right information.

I trained in 86 and had no problems but was lucky that uni still had copies from the nursing school. Shouldn't slow it down and NMC should be able to sort something.

Good luck

Hi! Any particular credit card in the AMEX? What I mean can I choose any personal credit cards from them like The Nectar Credit Card?

Waiting for an answer. Ta.
