International editions of textbooks

Has anyone ever bought an "international" edition of a text? They are cheaper, i am wondering what the difference is.

I was too nervous to buy any of those versions not knowing. So thank you for asking a great question!

I ended up finding all the books I needed used for right around the same price as the international books were listed for. I just had to shop around, use some cashback shopping places, & hunt for coupon codes. (Bargain hunter at heart lol) Let me know if there is a particular book you are looking for & I will do a search for you :)

I got an International version of my microbiology book. It was the soft cover version sold in the UK and it saved me $50.

I bought the IV of my A&P and micro books and saved big $$. My AP book was $50 with ship included and the school wanted $200. Saved alot in micro book also. Just read the descriptions carefully. Mine were the EXACT same page for page with color. Some others are black and white only but they state this in the description. Good luck.

I have bought International Versions a few times and so far they have always been identical, only cheaper.:yeah:

Did this with my A & P book -- Saladin -- it was 40 % of the new price here. Got it from India and the only difference...softcover.

Same here, only difference was the cover and not hardback, all the inside info was the same.

International versions of textbooks are analogous to international versions of medications... the same product, just a whole lot more expensive here in the US of A.

So kind of us to subsidize the rest of the world.

They are identical! It is cheaper. However do not rely on your bookstore to resell the book b/c they wont...supposedly its illegal! I dont know how but that is what the store manager said. Definitely purchase them if you can

Almost certainly a violation of their contracts with the publishers.
