How do I keep them white?

Just got new white sneakers (walkers) which I'm hoping will help with PF and bunion pain. How do I keep them white?

I have used Windex on white sneakers before and that pretty much took all the white off and made the leather show through.

Any ideas?

First, clean them with good leather cleaner, then polish them. I use a polish called Super White. I got it at Meijer's when they had their shoe repair shops in their stores. It worked the best of any shoe polish I tried. It is manufactured by Deluxe Brands. Hope this helps.

Believe it or not, you basic shaving cream does a great job of cleaning up white leather tennis shoes. Dampen a washcloth, spray on shave cream and rub.

i use soap or hand sanitizer on a warm wash cloth.

I spray them with Scotch Guard when they are brand new.

Then I toss them in the washing machine on cold when they get dirty.

Yep-- true on the machine washing of leather sneakers! I put mine in the washer AND dryer... Get them mostly or half dry and let air out the rest of the way. Makes the "bounce" come back, and if they have stretched a little they come right back. they do make an awful racket in the dryer, and sometimes will bang the door open, though... Brings the whiteness and color right back too... alot cheaper than all those fancy sprays and topicals...

Yep~! I don't put them in the dryer though . . . I have one of those old fashioned shoe dryers . . . that slip inside the shoes and plug in to the wall.

my oldest has white leather cheer shoes that we have to keep clean and we use the mr clean magic eraser...works wonders :)

i use a spray dye that i purchased at a shoe repair shop, the guy there told me i could do just as good a job as him using the spray. i used it and it worked great.

Believe it or not, I've found SoftScrub to work well. If you have not heard of it - you'll be able to find it in the cleaning aisle of the market.

Apply a small bit of softscrub on an old rag, and gently work it circles, then rinse with water. But I'd use it sparingly, or dilute the softscrub with a bit of water. I used this on my nike tennis shoes. Oh, and if you have the choice, avoid the lemon scent - kind of weird. :)
