I am 46 years old, really. The last 10 years I have switched from landaus, and all my scrubs are custom made and fitted. I also decide on the material used. I have gotten away from the synthetics and prefer to have all mine made from renewable sources. Organic cotton, and even lately from bamboo cloth which is very comfortable but also very lasting. I prefer materials from renewable sources.

I also prefer having them custom fitted and designed. There are certain ways that I like my scrubs designed. I can easily afford it, so I do pamper myself a little in this regard.

I found great scrubs that I actually love wearing now......Koi brand. They are 55% cotton/45% poly and are the most comfortable, well fitting scrubs with tons of pockets. We are allowed ONE color, so thankfully they have a color very similiar to the one we are allowed.........

I highly recommend them. The KOI brand runs about $24 per piece online....oh and they are junior fit, so order one size up if you are not junior sized....

hmmmmmmmmmm the custom scrubs sound wonderful.

Not in my budget at this time though.:bluecry1:

Maybe someday if that becomes a priority for me.

Forgot to mention there are some delightful materials coming from the use of hemp also. All natural. No synthetics. Trouble with linens made from hemp.

sure do, I make my own and then can put all the pockets I want where I want. Sewing is also "my" time. Also I suffer(ha-ha) from short leg dz and hate buying clothes only to have to hem them to fit me. Now I just adjust the pattern to how I want it to be on me. Have also had fun adding lace to cover the wear and tear around the neck. Everyone wonders where I get my scrubs. I love watching their faces when I tell them I sew them. Sometimes patients recognize the patterns from material stores and we share sewing secrets and stories.:yeah:

Where do you find custom made scrubs?

I have this very nice local Hispanic Seamstress. She designs them and custom fits them to me. Actually very affordable. My choice of organic all natural materials. Cut the way I like them to fit on me. Yes probably a little pretentious of me, But then thats who I am.

I'm thinking about having scrubs custom made from some kind of warmer material than scrubs usually are. I work hospice in people's homes, so I'm constantly outside freezing. I'm not sure what kind of fabric, but I know these thin, commercially available scrubs just don't cut it!!! Any ideas??

I find all natural materials to be a bit warmer. Cotton, Bamboo, even hemp. All from replenishable sources

omg, it's too cool that y'alls sew/have custom-made scrubs..i would never think to...since i'm not too handy on the sewing machine.

so creative!!!

since you are basically doing homecare, do you really need to wear scrubs?

especially the pants? maybe find some heavier pants in regular clothing to coordinate with scrub tops?.....
