  1. Please add me as well to your prayer chain, as I re-take again this January 2009. :) Prayer is a powerful thing. Thank you for the reminder. Hope everyone does well, and stays positive.
  2. you are too funny! :) congrats!!! God is definitely great!!
  3. omg, it's too cool that y'alls sew/have custom-made scrubs..i would never think to...since i'm not too handy on the sewing machine. so creative!!!
  4. I love my danskos- but my sister wore them and now the left one seems looser than the right. I really want to take the Crocs plunge - but they look so unpretty.
  5. I have a Litman, and is toted the best...but I still am terrible at hearing through them at times. I will definitely check out the ones you recommended!
  6. I remember when I met this girl for the first time, I told her the story of why I wanted to become a nurse...and we talked for like an hour - here we are a couple years later. I finished nursing school, she just started nursing school. She probably wants to wish death on me right now (she's doing her clinicals) :) - she's sooooo thankful for our conversation. I love to prove people wrong about the profession. :)
  7. any progress/success stories as of late??
  8. It's sooo comforting for me when I read these posts. :) I too am a bit traumatized to re-take the NCLEX. It's been an year after graduating, and I feel at times so embarassed to see all my classmates all pass, and it's just me left. My family are always reminding me..that I'm not getting any younger, and that I shouldn't waste my time/degree. But, I found a job at a Pharma company in the meantime and it's great however, I've been working a few months and I'm finding it so hard to find time to study, or even motivate myself. My hours are 8:30-5:30, but these days I've been staying until 8 pm!! I am so exhausted but have a new/old found desire to pass NCLEX. And I am testing in January. Any advice in how you juggle work and studying?? I am so ADD at times. I get into the groove and then easily get distracted by work-bf-life. I really do want to become an RN. Not sure if it shows, but I do want to do some good in this world, before I die. :redbeathe thanks all!! :)
  9. What is the difference b/w the third vs. fourth edition? More test questions?
  10. Like everyone said, and I would add. It was super competitive, and the girls could get catty. But, I found a friend, she's the best but lives in Cali now. :) We carpooled almost everyday, and that's where we formed our friendship, and just being chill and relaxed even though we were in an accelerated program we were able to just enjoy the experience even when exams were every week or so, followed by long clinicals, drives that we woke up at 4am and left at 6-7pm. Find one of those friends, you'll find at least that special buddy. Stick with them and you won't lose it entirely. Take care.
  11. Hi! I've have heard mostly negatives about Laboure. Mostly administrative problems, and disorganization re: class selections..miscommunication which lead to students being delayed a year or so from graduating. I'm not sure their rate of passing the NCLEX is all too high either. Thing is, I'm biased since I overheard one of my classmates who had been at Laboure complaining about it..hence she switched to another program in Worcester. Sorry... It's a small school, with smaller facilities the only thing going for them is their affiliation with the Caritas Carney, but that's not saying much. Good luck hopefully you'll have a better experience there. Tell us how it goes..
  12. Hi Christine!! Should I go for a PCA position with a floating pool, some of them specify a wing/floor? Does that mean I am rotated to all the floors if I'm in a pool? I am worried, because most of them say at least 3 years experience; would they even consider me even if I'm a nursing student? Thanks again,
  13. Thanks Christine!! I'm going to browse the site right now!!! :) Do you recommend one campus/department over the other. I want the full range that nursing has to offer, so could you point me or advise me about that...I don't want a slow-paced one if you know what I mean. I was going into the program all about pediatric oncology..but who knows where I'll land. Is St. Vincent's part of UMASS? I'm sorry I'm fairly new to the area. Do they offer the same services? Thanks again for your patience & help!!
  14. Hi Liz! It's me Jenn !!! :) I finally tracked you down in the forum. We're both in the accel. program at MCPHS-Worcester and buds for life ! :) You guys should seriously check out the labs, pretty awesome instruments/gadgets to play with! The professors are really dedicated to assuring we get the necessary and proper treatment in all aspects of our learning. :) Christine, Do you think there are any positions like a nurse's aide, I forget what they call it, some sort of critical care tech or any speciality..they would offer to nursing students? I don't mind the pay rate, just the experience and how versatile, and conducive to learning it will be for me...and how would I contact them about it? I'm not sure how wise it is to work, and go to school but I would really like the experience...the Foley cath, blood drawing sort of freaks me out since I just know it from lecture. Thanks!!! :)
