Hi everyone! I'm new to all nurses and am excited to be here. I'm an LVN and am currently working towards getting my RN. I have an application process that i'll be doing in July to get into a Local college that is now only accepting a maximum of 3 LVN s into their RN program yearly. They are looking at more of a holistic view, not just grades. In fact they are looking at work history, How long you have been a nurse, and i'm assuming anything else that my give you kudos into the program. So now to my post, I was contacted by the INA sometime back and just talked to them today. I did a whole interview process to be part of their organization which sounds great, and appears could possibly benefit me in my application process to this college. However they didn't tell me the cost of anything until they end . Turns out it's pretty expensive! I signed up for the cheapest membership which can be cancelled at anytime. I figure I should at least have it in the benefits of applying, and then after if I felt I should I can cancel. I just want to know what any of you think of the INA? Are any of you members? What are pro's and Cons? Any info and feed back would be great, Thanks guys!!!

What does INA stand for? Where is INA located? It's not an acronym that I am familiar with, but I am guessing that it is a for-profit school based upon your comment regarding cost.
It stand for international nurses association and it's a membership for selected healthcare individuals. It seemed pretty legit, but I'm always cautious where I'm putting my money these days.
Here's a link to another thread on allnurses about International Association of Nurses:
https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/international-association-nurses-524430.html
and another started by Brian (the founder of this site): https://allnurses.com/nursing-news/nursing-scam-alert-607939.html
From their own website, most nominations are made by their marketing department: "Who nominated me? Unless we indicate that you were nominated by an IAHCP/IAN member, or patient, you were not nominated, but selected by our Marketing and Research Department." The fact that your "membership" is not in a free public directory (only those who pay $$$ for the privilege is a red flag)
Based upon the photos on the site it appears that INA is the same as IAN...especially since the address is the same as well as all the photos, phone number and "benefits":

They just moved the word "association" in their organization name.
Buyer beware.

I would read the thread that Beachy has posted for you.....I got one of those last year. It's a scam.
The "INA" and the "IAN" are the same both located at 410 Park Avenue, 15th Floor - New York, NY 10022
