Did anyone get notification via email?
Yes! I called was told it means that you are a viable candidate, but you probably have outstanding pre-reqs that you are still working on. That is the case for me. She said that the 25 people who got their letters of acceptance had already finished their pre-reqs, and that some 50 odd student who are viable candidates still have those classes outstanding and can't be pfficially accepted until the courses are completed.
Hope that helps!!! I know it did for me......

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Wow, that's some patience you have, I'd be having my neighbor check my mail every day for me! Haha! Good Luck!

Nope, the only thing I got via email was notification of the open house Dec 4th and that a formal letter would be arriving by US Mail. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us still waiting to hear something..
Well, I for one am definately going to be at this open house. Hope to see you all there!

I got that email about open house too!!! Do you know if we're able to just meet one on one instead of attending the open house? I don't get out of work until 7pm. I hope they can meet me!

Agreed. I wish I could just call, give them my name and get a yes, or a no.

I don't quite understand.... are they going to wait until the end of December when people have finished their pre-reqs to let everyone know? I also have everything completed, so I'm kind of confused. It seems odd to hold the open house and only have 25 people who have actually been admitted.... Guess we just have to wait and see....

My friend who got in last summer still had Spring pre-reqs pending and she said they made her get letters from her professors stating her current grade in each class and then mail them the letters. But I'm not sure if she got an actual "acceptance" letter before that. I'm assuming she did, considering OU started in June and her classes weren't finished until mid May. I'll email and ask her and get back to you guys about it. It's super frustrating.

Alright, here is her response, and I just copied and pasted it from my email:

Ugh! I remember that time was very stressful. Everyone on allnurses received an e-mail that they got in and a letter shortly after. I received my letter stating I was on the waitlist about 10 days after acceptance e-mails went out. It was a miserable wait! I had e-mailed since I hadn't received a rejection letter either. A couple of days before I got my letter, I got an e-mail to tell me I was on the alternate list. That process is another stressful wait. Basically, you are waiting around to see if those who got accepted decide to decline their offer. There were about 14 people of the alternated list. From what I can make out, I was about #5. I didn't get notification or officially accepted until about 2 days before orientation (about a 3 weeks after recieving my waitlist letter)! I called every 4-5 days to check my status.

Hope this helps a little bit..maybe it'll be different since they're not doing email notifications this year.

I was an alternate last time and that sounds different from my last experience too.... I guess they haven't figured out the best system yet. I just hope I get some kind of letter in the next few days so I have a little better of an idea where I stand. Everyone keeps asking me if I have heard anything and I'm so sick of telling them that I have no idea! Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!

Who is going to the orientation on Thursday? Is there anything specific we need to bring? The email didn't say much.

Have the rest of you heard any news from OU? Good luck to all!

Hope to meet you all on Thursday!

I think the only thing it specified was to bring both a credit card and at least one check. I will see you there!

We should all try and meet up with each other at the orientation. It was so crowded last time, so maybe meet in front of the building at 2:45? Who's in?
