University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just read the UO's Student Handbook last night and it says to take the BLS for Healthcare Provider at American Heart Association. So I will call and find out available space today.

Yes, you'll need the BLS version.

Should be around $65.

So no word on when the rest of the applicants will hear form OU? I was cool with waiting until now, but this is getting a bit harsh! All of the acceptance letters should go out at the same time.

you'd think that would be the case. I can't help but start getting a little depressed over the whole thing! If we don't hear anything by Friday I'm going to chalk it up to a denial.

hi there~

i am actually taking the cpr course tonight and tomorrow night from 6-10 at the american red cross. i think its called cpr for the professional rescuer. it's $75.00.

thankfully i checked and this class is not ok. the class we need is only 3 1/2 hours.

Nope, the only thing I got via email was notification of the open house Dec 4th and that a formal letter would be arriving by US Mail. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us still waiting to hear something..

Yes! I called was told it means that you are a viable candidate, but you probably have outstanding pre-reqs that you are still working on. That is the case for me. She said that the 25 people who got their letters of acceptance had already finished their pre-reqs, and that some 50 odd student who are viable candidates still have those classes outstanding and can't be pfficially accepted until the courses are completed.

I got that email about open house too!!! Do you know if we're able to just meet one on one instead of attending the open house? I don't get out of work until 7pm. I hope they can meet me!
