As of right now I take the NCLEX MArch 4th. I am a little nervous because I can't remember every little thing in each subject area. So frustrating. But I am doing well with prioritization, math, delegration. Scared to death about the meds.

If anyone had a interview for a new grad position, Can you give me some interview questions that they could possible ask?

Also can someone give me a statement that I can expand on about mt Excelsior Education and how great of a nurse it has made you from the whole experience. I know what it has done but I want to articulate it so that the person understands how hard we have worked to get my point across that I am a great nurse. Do you undertand what I am saying? I will definetly put my spin on it to represent me and tell my story but I want to know what others have said.

Thanks a million! I am using the Saunders book and CD. Very indepth studyguide.

New grad questions here go something like:

You have a pulse? Excellent! How about a license?

Calm down on the meds and use your prefixes and suffixes - prils are ACE inbitors, olols Beta blockers, sones are probably steroids - you know the drill.

NC Girl, I just wanted to say good luck on the NCLEX!! I know you'll do well -- I have no doubt!

As far as being an EC grad, I'd say we have to be driven, motivated, self-starting, and disciplined people. Generally speaking. :) My cover letter usually goes a little something like this: "I take pride in my attention to detail, patient safety, and compassionate patient care. I am organized, a natural multi-tasker, and I am able to prioritize patient requirements in critical care environments. I work well in a team environment as well as on my own, with little supervision or direction. I am a self-starter, taking initiative to ensure excellent patient care. I enjoy challenges and am constantly seeking to expand my knowledge base."

Really good Lisa! Thanks so much for your input. If that manager is open, I'm gonna impress her socks off. I am a great communicator and team player. I've only been a CNA,LPN and now an RN. Heck I am the team all rolled up into one!

Yep ... you have a depth of experience that not all new grads possess. Go get 'em!!! :D

When I interviewed anyone for a position (granted, this was before I was in healthcare, but interviews are similar), I would always ask the applicant to describe a problem they encountered on their job, and how they solved it. So that's a good thing to keep in your pocket in case they ask something like that.
