Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Can anyone PM me any recommended GCU instructors for:

Nursing Leadership and Management

Pathophysiology and Nursing Management of Clients' Health

Trends and Issues in Today's Health Care

Professional Research Project

Thanks in advance!! :)

I would love the same (except for leadership--as Im in it now)

check ur PM Heaney16

So i'm trying to compile a list of the instructors so if anyone could send them my way that would be great.

Also- WHY is it that my advisor told me I can't switch courses according to instructor names?! He said i need to email the instructor and get the course ID myself?

How did stats go? I see you posted back in September. Looks like you survived if you are this far, lol

That is strange, I want to know what that is about. I just call my advisor and say get me into this persons class. If they are not available I take her recommendation, so far that has worked out.

Drea, that makes no sense. The second you post on that forum you are committed.

I can see why they discourage switching around. It would be like musical instructors for them.

i think I need to just speak with someone a little higher up? I spoke with my enrollment advisor and that was who they said they couldn't. I sent off a message to the student advisor and asked now instead. Can I be done already though? bah.

Health Assessment consists of an indirect care experience where you make a pamphlet to inform parents about an environmental factor that can affect the health of infants. You then share it with a parent and give a written summary of the teaching.Another is a physical assessment of a child-it requires a bit of detail and time, but not too bad. Next is a physical assessment of an adolescent. It is also a bit detailed and requires a wellness diagnosis. The CLC is on childhood diseases. The last week is a movie character health assessment presentation which requires making a power point after doing an assessment on a character in the movie. Also that week you do a physical assessment on an older adult. Community Health is busy! There is a paper on a communicable disease, a CLC power point on a community assessment and analysis which is a little time consuming (if you understand the assignment at all) and a 3 part community presentation, teaching experience paper, and community teaching work plan proposal. Which translates into a lot of work!! This is by far the busiest I have been so far. Just plan ahead for the work required for this class and you should be fine. It is quite time consuming. Good Luck!

derkfamily! thank you so much for all that info. I really need to think ahead with my classes and know whats going on with them since i have a lot of things coming up with work and in the home. I have to get a certification by mid/late april so studying for that while doing this program is going to be tough, so i really appreciate the heads up on the workload!

Also- i created my original CLC and reused it for this class, is that a nono?

not being able to switch makes no sense? I know the whole posting locks you in thing, but i was asking about switching one of my future courses. I sent off an email tonight so I guess tomorrow I will have an answer on that.

No, using the clc agreement again is smart. Why reinvent the wheel?

thanks! it really was all my input so I don't feel guilty at all about reusing it- but does that mean others could be reusing my CLC that i created? hmmm.
