    Hello all,

    Im currently an LPN to ASN student, and plan to go for my bsn when I graduate. I am looking for an online ASN to BSN program that is both as quick and as cost effective as possible. My main concern is time first, and cost second.

    Can you please post the length of your RN to BSN program and the cost? Thanks in advance! I would like to be able to get my BSN as soon as possible because I then want to go for my MSN. If I could shorten my BSN as much as possible, I can get started on my MSN sooner. Thanks in advance!

    I am pretty sure Excelsior has a ASN/ADN to MSN directly without having to get the BSN in between. And, if it is anything like the ADN/ASN it is self paced, so you could do it as quickly as you are able to... No idea how much $. I would consider it if the subsequent pay raise was proportional.

    I was in a similiar situation. I did my ADN to BSN in 18 months and then my MSN in 12 months. I did both of these via University of Phoenix. Yes, it was expensive, but I did the BSN/MSN in 2.5 years too.

    Then...I did a post-MSN CNS certificate which took two semesters.

    its difficult to tell how long your rn to bsn will take. I have an associate and i would like to do my RN to BSN in the shortest time possible and the cheapest way. However, i can usually get a program that offers 1 but not both. I have a lot of extra courses which usually fullfill the requirement but one program(univ of DE) required a biology in addition to A & P. I dont have bio. 2 programs i was looking at yesterday wanted macroeconomics or 2 chemistry. So, i would advise you to google RN to BSN online and take a look at the Individual programs. One of my choice for short and inexpensive is Univ of North Alabama. Good luck.

    I got accepted ino the rn-bsn online program at university of maryland for spring 2007. I dont know how much it costs for out of state students but i know it is a one year program if you do it full time. u can check on thier website for the cost.     for the previous poster-i forgot to mention that 2 programs-(rn to bsn) that is 1 yr is Univ of MD and Thomas Jefferson Univ in Philadelphia. Are you starting in Jan. I spoke to one of the advisors last yr but it past the deadline but she kept repeating -how difficult it is to get in the program. Did you find it that way.

    yes.i do start this january. I don't know about it being hard to get in. I was told that as long as u are an RN it is easier to get in. I had already taking all my prereqs except one class before ever starting nursng school so when I graduated last year I just had one math class to take ..which I took this fall..i applied while I was taking the math class and I got an acceptance letter within a month. I just turned in my final grade three weeks ago for the math class. and I start jan 22nd. I just think its a whole lot of prereqs u have to take..once that is done...i guess its easier..

    i dont know how the program is though. I do not know anyone who is in the program or has finished from the program. I wish i did.

    i'm doing an adn-bsn program that takes 18 months through nova southeastern university in florida. they give alot of credits for already having your rn and they hardly have any extra prerequisites. www.nova.edu

    Hi..lots of great ideas.....TraumaRUS..congrats...looks like you kicked some butt. I am using Dundee University (Scotland). It takes about 18 months and is about 10K. NLN accedited and entirely self paced. It has four modules or componants with 10 hours per module, each requiring a lengthy thesis. BUT no clinical, as part of your projects are based on your worksite and experience. Check it out it was the best for my busy life.
