Does anyone know if Excelsior is still taking this as a transfer credit? I have a request in to take the class, but haven't heard back from Excelsior yet. I really just want to sign up for the class and get it over with this week, but I hesitate to do that without official approval. Is it pretty safe to sign up? This is my last requirement and I will be able to graduate July 16! If I don't finish it this month, will it mess me up for graduation in July? I just want to get er done!

Give EC a call tomorrow and get this approved and done. Nobody has posted that they have changed their policy of accepting it. Call them.

Yeah, according to that "Processing Parameters for Graduation" link on the MyEC page, it looks like May 28 is the deadline for graduating July 16. You should call EC, and get it done ASAP! :)

For the record, the EC Information literacy class can be done in abouat two hours assuming you have research skills and good English. The only problem is really the cost.

But at the end of the day, I think that I spent more time trying to get out of this requirement then actually working on the class. I would say that if there is any grey area, just take the class. And although I have taken the Penn Foster course I would recommend that you take this class if both are an option.

i just did the penn foster class a month or so ago. called the 1-800 number, paid the money and had log in info about 2 days later. took me about 2 hours to finish the assignments, earned an "a". was the easiest grade i ever got! you have to call them back when you're done and pay $10 to have your transcript sent over to the ec office, but all went smooth for me! congrats on graduation!!

Thanks everyone! I called both Excelsior and Penn Foster and I'm getting my material hopefully soon! My advisor said to get it done and even if I miss the deadline by a day or two, she would make sure I graduate in July! :D

How much does Penn Foster charge for their Info Lit. course?

if i remember correctly, it was $95 plus $10 to have the transcript forwarded to ec...did it all over the phone and finished the class projects in about 2 hours. easiest a i ever got!

So you just have to call EC, then call Penn Foster? Is there a specific phone number/contact needed?

Tasha, I called my advisor at excelsior, who gave the approval to take the Penn Foster class. I called up Penn Foster (credit card in hand) and paid $90. Two days later, I received my student ID number from Penn Foster and logged into my class online. It took me two days to complete because I had to work, otherwise one day would have been enough. I got an A (yay!) and then requested that my transcript be sent to Excelsior. I'm going to notify my advisor this afternoon that the transcript is on its way and that should do it! I'm ready to graduate! Woohoo!

Now on to the application for the BON and the NCLEX.
