LPN to RN online school? Need help finding one?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi I'm currently a LPN and I'm looking to doing a LPN to RN program online. I did all of the pre-reqs at my university here. But I'm looking in to doing it online. Does anyone know of any good online schools? Or has anyone completed a LPN to RN online course?

California board seems to only have issue with programs who lack clinicals. Other hybrids are fine.

At least that's what I took from their email back to me.

Depending where you are in northern CA, University of Phoenix in Sacramento has an LVN-BSN program.

Would you happen to know how much it would cost?? Thanks!

I applied for this program and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED as I received a letter in mail today saying I was not accepted. There is no reason why I should not have been accepted. I have had many problems with communication with this Online Bridge Program, wrong names and transcripts missing on my application that was to go in front of the board for acceptance, people not returning my phone calls, disorganization with many classes they require. This program requires many things to be done that cost money....up front. You will need your KS LPN license (NOT cheap). You need a full semester 4 credit IV Therapy class (which...SURPRISE...they offer!!), and many other things that I spend a lot of money on BEFORE YOU EVEN APPLY, that only can be used in THIS particular Kansas program, only to NOT be accepted. I jumped through hoops to get everything to them on time and was very meticulous about all of it. I kept in contact with them and my grades are good. I am finishing Patho, Micro, and IV class now, and was hoping to get in this Jan. I am getting "A"s in these classes. Because of the money spent in their state for a program I may not be able to finish, and them leading me along...I am thinking about reporting them to at least the BBB. There is much more to this than I am writing here. If you would like to learn more about why this program may NOT be what you need, please reply and I will contact you. In the mean time, I am contact my "advisor" (whom never rarely returned my phone calls btw) to find out just why I was not accepted. For all I know they did not send my proper application to the board as there were many mistakes on the one they e-mailed me, and had to have it re-done numerous times.

Which program? There are at least 4 mentioned in this thread

I applied and my experience was the opposite. As this is one of the very few distance programs offered for LPN/Paramedic bridge to RN I knew it would be highly competitive. They only take 25 LPNs in the while United States. I would assume that if someone does not have some classes completed he/she might not be all that competitive? I assume they get a lot of applicants from all over the United States. I bet if you tried again next year once your classes are completed you would have a better chance :-) (That is if you are referring to Hutchinson, which sounds like it because I applied as well.)

Allegany college? For the person who posted about LPN to RN online program or if anyone else has information. I have questions.

My bio and micro are almost 7 yrs old.

1. Does this matter to qualify for program?

2. I have never taken ACT, does this effect me?

Background....,

I am a LPN and have taken 2 classes toward my RN.

3. Will they accept classes already taken? Every online school I have checked in A. don't sound very appealing B. only take bio and micro 5yrs old.

Thank you for any information in advance.

A friend of mine went to Allegany College's LPN to RN program. She said she liked it, and they accepted her old credits (which were like 5 years old) An Online LPN to RN Program at Allegany College of Maryland

Hi how was the entrance exam?

I know this is an old string - but I just heard about this college. Do you know if it's still a good online alternative to classroom programs? I'm in CA, but I'd gladly travel for clinicals.

I am currently in the 2nd quarter. I had to go to campus for an orientation day in September, and have to return for two weeks at the end of June for a skills workshop. AFter that, the final quarter is clinical in locations throughout washington, so you would have to relocate for those 2 months. Alot of students get together and rent an apartment for that time. I am hoping to get into a hospital near me in Seattle. The first three quarters are all online. Its a lot of reading but not too intense. From what I understand, prerequisites do not expire to get in. They do rank applicants by an LPN predictor ATI the TEAS test, my class is the first year they have done this.

This is very helpful. Thank you!
